I think the Moto G play at $20 more is better option with 1GB more for ram and 5000mAh battery vs 3550mAh on E version. I was pleasantly surprised with Tracfone though. They activated my LG Fiesta 2 that I bought 2 years ago and send overnight different sim to make it work even and on top transferred the balance from second phone (it was BOGO ebay deal) to first one (I use second as media player and with my OBD2 BT scanner tool to read any error codes that cars pop).
I wonder if I can do a service set up with older iPhone to keep inside the car in case it gets stolen lol.

Worked for me. Just picked one up to use as a media/cardboard player. Suppose it's at least better than the old iPhone 5 I was using.

Moto E 2020 is a lot better than Tracfone LG Rebel 3. Too bad my situation doesn't make getting into the deal a good move right now.

Can I buy it and sell the sim card for $20? Would the buyer be able to use it on their unlocked / TF phones?

I think the way it works is balance/plan is attached to device imei number instead of just sim, so technically it's possible to transfer the balance if you call them with that info but then the phone becomes just a WiFi device I think.

Not without a lot of gyrations that would scare away a potential buyer, or you. The specific phone itself has to be activated with the SIM card to get the included plan.
