This is cheap and 300 ft-lbs is sufficient for many tasks that an amateur mechanic is likely to tackle.

Can this remove and reinstall lug nuts? Quick Google search show the torque spec for a lot of lug nuts is less than 300 ft lbs.

Yep, for cars, lug nuts are typically under 100 ft-lbs. That's probably one of the most popular uses for this thing.

That deal is for a Craftsman 1/4" hex shank driver. Usually used for screws not bolts/nuts. The rating is only 1460 in-lbs, not ft-lbs. That equates to about 122 ft-lbs, less than half of this Ryobi 1/2 in driver.

I have this 1/2 in Ryboi driver and it'll do just about everything you need as a homeowner. Brushed version should last plenty long unless you're using it every day.

I would get the P262 brushless instead of this old model.

Thanks for clarifying! I've never used an impact driver before, only regular drills so this is all great info.

I would definitely recommend a 1/4" hex shank impact driver for installing screws into really anything. The difference between it and a regular drill is night and day. Plus it's very quick to change out bits.
