Is this better than the Netgear CM1100 on sale at Costco for $120 right now?

https://www.costco.com/netgear-ni...64287.html

Both are DOCSIS 3.1, both support multi port bonding. Motorola comes with 2yr warranty whereas Netgear comes with only 1yr (but Costco, so you can return anytime).

I think the Motorola has a 2.5GB port(assuming you can get close to these speeds from your provider) and the Netgear has 2X 1GB ports. Thats one difference.

The 8600 has performed perfectly for my parents. I didn't get great vibes about Netgears offerings when I researched the options a year ago. I also ordered this when it dropped in price last night at BB.

Did the price drop lower than this at BB last night?

If you have old modem or router, you could bring it to Best Buy and get another 15% off. (I believe you can stack the coupon with the sale price)

Is it mostly because of the 2.5 gbps vs 1gbps reason mentioned above? Afaik there are very few routers capable of accepting the multi-gig bonding feature.. so buying this is basically only future proofing, correct?
