Been waiting to upgrade my Motorola SB6141 and have been looking for a deal on this one. Amazon dropped it to $129.99 (Thanks Camels). Normally $219.99

Still buy modem on your own ?
the cable company should provide for free and not allow to charge equipment fee since 2022
I've never had an ISP that provides a modem for free, unless some sort of short term promotion. Correct if I'm wrong but I thought the law you're referring to only prohibited the ISP from charging a bogus modem rental fee to customers who provide their own modem. I believe they can still still charge you a fee to rent an ISP-owned modem.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Arris S33? I've been waiting for a decent price on that one for awhile.
I've had the Arris and this Motorola is hands down the better modem. No resets needed and runs cooler. It has been flawless for a long long time. Also same price through Motorola

I actually decided I wanted this one or the S33 last year, whichever went on sale first. The S33 did and I had it for a month or two before it stopped working. Apparently it's REALLY sensitive to surges and stuff like that so if you live in a place prone to lightning and storms I would highly recommend against it.
I was able to get a store credit and waited for this one to go on sale. My last one was a Motorola and has lasted me over a decade so like the idea of replacing it with a Motorola.

SB6141? Interesting to hear it is still being used. I brought this modem 9 years ago and deprecated it 7 years ago as it can't provide enough bandwidth from Comcast. I used the XFi Gateway from the unlimited monthly quota package upgrade and the modem(XB7) from Comcast is more than enough. I suggest you can check out the XFi deals. After I am switching to ATT fiber, their optical modem are excellent as well.
