Nice unit. Definitely big. Unique smell close to the unit when running, sort of oddly sweet and yeasty like a bakery or something lol, not bad, but noticeable. Hopefully will dissipate a bit with some run time. I assume this is the filter smell people talk about.
Inside filter is rated at 6 months if you ran it continuously on the highest setting. You can possibly extend its life by running it periodically or vacuuming the ribbed side of the filter at your own risk. For real HEPA filters, the benefit of doing so is marginal [smartairfilters.com].
No wifi, no timers. Just a speed controlled fan and a filter, a really inexpensive filter. They sell a separate air quality monitor but they don't sell it in California because it "doesn't meet the state's stringent air quality regulation requirements"

I bought 2 of these (they used to sell them in CA but recently stopped); They upped the price from the original $55 + $5.50 filters and $9.99 carbon filters (now it's $60 / $6 / $12.99)
The filter prices are definitely the best, but a few notes:
The filters are all separate, so $18.99 for the hepa + carbon filters (previously $15.49 for both), and there is no pre-filter on it.. the pre-filter is part of the unit itself and I don't think it can be washed.
Also, no automatic control (its essentially a fan with 3 speeds) and can be loud. If you want to be all-in for about $60 (minus the carbon filter) it's nice.
If you want something a little nicer, I suggest the Levoit Core 300 for about $80-90 which has a 3-in-1 filter (Hepa+Carbon+pre-filter) which can be had for $25 each or by an OEM aftermarket brand for about $22.99 for a 2-pack
I thought the manual dials would be fine until after having auto control for a while and then moving to manual. If it's going to be in a bedroom (no cooking, and you're not smoking) it's probably not that big of a deal though.
I haven't tried this one personally, but it's my experience with a number of the higher end Levoit ones.
