This feels like a plus and minus. I turned on the headlight during the day and the screen switches to night mode, making it hard to see.
By default, the radio is configured to "Auto". However, you can manually select day time / night time in radio's settings.

This is a USB cable issue. I had similar experience until I replaced the USB cable.
Will get a different cable and try it out. BTW, does the dual backup camera cable have the wire which carries the camera power to the head unit?

Don't follow the cabling instructions that came with the Dual camera! It's confusing and it's wrong. Video cable only carries a red signal wire to to tell the camera to turn on. While the red and black cable needs to be connected from the camera to your backup light to provide power.

Follow these steps instead: https://youtu.be/rHORKUqlEM4

After installation, I did not like at all how big of a hole I needed to drill on my car's trunk to fit the RCA plugs in one at a time. Luckily this hole is completely covered by a frame. I did make sure to cover the hole so water doesn't get inside the trunk once I got all the cables connected. I used flex seal tape, which is water proof. For the other cars, I will not use the Dual branded camera. Instead, I bought this...smaller hole to drill plus it has LED / IR light for night vision: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083XV6BFY/

Has anyone else attempted to do the MCU update? It's part of the older firmware update set of files. The 2 ISPBOOT files in that set updated the radio fine. I then attempted the MCU update following the instructions. I saw the progress bar advance until completed and it said remove the USB drive and press OK button. After I did that, the screen just went black. Screen won't come on anymore. Pressing the RESET button lights up the blue power button and that's it. For sure power is getting to the radio. Before the firmware updates... FM stations, Android Auto, and backup camera were all working.

Damn. I hope that MCU update didn't brick the radio.

I saved all three files to to do the filmware update at 1 time and checked system version. screen resolution improved significantly but i am not able to notice if update corrected clock issues, adds dates to home screen, and Adjusts the Source volume settings during vehicle startup.
Did not try to do the update again since i am satisfied with home screen resolution is improved.

I called Dual. They said just send the radio back and it will get replaced under warranty. I have to pay shipping to get it there though.

So tip...don't do the MCU update. The latest firmware update is sufficient. Don't bother with the older firmware that contains MCU update.

Curious how this unit is holding up for you the people who bought it. If this price ever comes back again, I definitely will be consider picking one up.
