Basically the support falls on party lines, unless it can be worked into a reconciliation bill or they blow the filibuster it's not happening.
Edit: just for clarity, didn't want to get the politics argument going on this more just a realistic view of whether the credit will get added to make this a much better deal.
2021 hatchback with a few amenities...
(Don't have a relative/friend that works for GM.. would have saved me $15-20/month)
Lease 30k, $1300 down (first month + all taxes and fees) with all incentives available inclui Costco)
$325/ month.
Uhh...no

I have nothing against electric cars but until the econuts support the only logical source of electric generation for a modern society (nuclear) I won't support the ridiculous push for EVs.
2022 refers to the fiscal year, not when the program will re-launch. It sounds like it is still on track for this summer. July has always been the time frame that they were mentioning.
Their financing ended up being awful - essentially cancelling out much of the incentive if we had taken it to full term, but we just paid it off in less than a year to minimize the interest.

I am looking to buy a 2021 Chevy Bolt with ____ package . I have already been to a dealership and driven this car. I am ready to make a purchase and am now just looking for the most competitive price. I am looking to complete this by the end of the month.
I have ~XXX credit score and am planning to finance through the dealership. I see this car would qualify for _______ bonuses or incentives.
I want the car to have the ____ interior and ____ exterior, but other options are acceptable.
If you have any matching inventory, please send me an itemized "out-the-door" price for your best offer to make this sale happen through your dealership. Include taxes for STATE, ZIP.
(also shipping if very far)

Not sure if I would invest in another hybrid or EV as I too expect better models to come out.
Edit: they have Niro EV as well. But not familiar with range etc..

I don't think I would feel comfortable driving in a smaller car, like the bolt, or sedan EV

Stop pretending that a once in a lifetime thing in Texas (that was a result of silly green ideals anyways) is in anyway close to as bad as California having consistent rolling blackouts as a matter of policy. You're told it has to do with fire prevention but it's also to do with the lack of power generation you have available during period of high heat when people are using air conditioning.
The point REMAINS that unless you support nuclear there is ZERO chance of a functioning all-electric society. And California is further behind than most because you're killing off nuclear.
The bolt is the most bare bones commuter car out there. If you delete the "ev" part, its a lower value than a honda fit. In interior is very budget, and the outside might have half the square footage painted, the rest is black plastic.
Id love to get one with 40k miles on it for $15k, but thats only because i could save $1000-1500 a year on gas. Else im better off getting a fit or something else similar sized.

Cars have gotten very expensive... Like I said, my buddy got a 2021 LT for 26,500 all in (tax included) without a trade so that means he got the car for about 24,000... Idk what cars you're looking at but it's definitely better than a 24k comparable car. Especially when you consider the gas savings and performance. I buy a new car every year and a half, I'm not new to this. BTW if you want the best resale value in a car go buy a Dodge Charger or Challenger with the 6.4L. I traded both of my two previous 6.4L Dodges for more than I paid for them brand new. Basically a free car.
It should be noted that the Bolt has a limited top speed of 92 miles an hour.
