Just FYI. I've had this installed for about a year. The motion detection is pretty naive and generates false "person alerts" all the time. A passing headlight, a bee, whatever. I tried changing the detection zone and the sensitivity settings, and gave up.

My only concern is how easy do people steal them. I want one but still debating. also is there anyway to waterproof it with hard wire power?

I haven't had a Nextdoor app comment on getting their ring or Eufy doorbell stolen...

I was wondering something along the same lines...if maybe people snag it because they know the video is stored within and they don't want to get caught?

Yeah but it's backed up with video on your phone so hopefully they are aware of that too

I did find that the SD card is stored in the chime, rather than the unit itself. Win-win! Pulled the trigger. Installing today.

"All recordings are stored directly onto your Wi-Fi Chime's SD card that is located inside your home. This means that even if someone were to forcibly remove the doorbell all your data will remain secure. *SD Card must be purchased separately."

From a privacy perspective, no. HomeKit is the only smart thing that I allow in my home. Nothing else.
