Yes, but you do get to keep the books you bought forever, even after canceling membership
12 months after they were issued, so 8 more months after your 4 month trial. And the books you buy are yours forever
Try chatting with support and ask to early renew with 'discount gold annual'. Several folks say They've been able to do that for them.
I think I got the renewal for $120, but some say they've gotten $99.
