It is too difficult for me to keep them straight, so I end up never buying into Dewalt.

Personally, I never use the middle speed setting and seldom the low setting with the variable speed trigger and why the smaller Atomic model works just as well.... especially around drywall dust, where that 3 speed setting gets full of dust and needs blown out.
This is the deal today and well worth it if you need it.
