I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Wow! Checking, yep, when the 80k deal was posted someone said they were waiting for 100k and everyone pretty much agreed. I signed up for the 80k in late March. To really rub sal in the wound they only applied 60k to my account and I am currently disputing to get the other 20k.
I do not recall if the notice was from Chase or from AMEX, but it said that gift cards will be treated as cash advances! Better make sure that is not the case for this offer.
What do you mean downgrade? You can downgrade the card after a certain time limit to avoid paying the yearly fee???
Correct. After the year is up, you can ask to downgrade to something like Chase Freedom which has no AF and you don't close a card that won't hurt your credit score.
yes but you will get 80k rather than 100k. pick your carrot.
If I downgraded my csr a few days ago and it's been more than 48 months since I received a bonus, am I good to apply for this card now? How long should I wait to be sure I qualify for this?
After applying and insta-approved yesterday, had my card expedited for delivery Monday. Called the number on my Chase SWA Visa and it was easy to have this done.
Has it been 48 months since you last received a bonus from a Sapphire card? If so you should qualify to receive this bonus.
Do you know if the 48 months start from when you redeemed the points, received them, when you signed up for the card or when you downgrade from The reserve? I Got the Sapphire Reserve in 9/2016 but not sure how to see when I received or redeemed the points. I have since downgraded the card. I would think I should be good unless the time starts when you drop the reserve card.

I tried to use my wife's referral link back then (when chase offers 80k rewards), and the referral page showed 60k rewards for me. I guess you accidentally used someone else's referral link.

begins from the date you received the bonus itself
Can you still downgrade even if you have freedom Flex and freedom unlimited?
There's also the lesser known Chase Sapphire (can downgrade to, but can't apply for it directly). Only downside is you can only have one card in the Chase sapphire family. So either you have the CS, CSP, or CSR. I assume you can upgrade again but probably after a period of a year or so again

Thank you. That is more of what I meant, redeem for money back instead of having to use some on air mileage.
