I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Per Doctor of Credit, a better offer will likely be available at Chase branches starting June 17. Per the wife of a poster on this thread, that offer is for 100K bonus points with no annual fee and $50 grocery reimbursement.

Oh then I'd feel a little bad. I think people should wait till then if they have a Chase branch nearby. It was pretty easy applying at the branch.
I usually keep away from opening credit cards. Stay on top of my bills. I only have 1 currently, the Chase Amazon one. Don't think it's a Sapphire card. Should I do this? I think I can spend 4000 in 3 months. Buy a hitch for GF's car, a new phone, etc. Would this be smart?

If you will spend the money anyways, then this is a good deal, doesn't get much better..
can i get this if i had the Chase sapphire reserve card before?. i think i downgraded it to the Chase freedom unlimited in 2018, which i still have right now
Currently having 10 credit cards. Credit history is 11 years. Credit utilization is around 23% while taking the advantage of 0% BT. No late payment ever.

Various factors are taken into consideration. How many credit cards do you have? How long have you had credit?

Are you nuts? They set the parameter in their system and the computer automatically checks. You are not eligible for the bonus. Period. Face it.
I am not nuts and it is a valid question, and it looks like you don't know the answer. Question was whether a hard pull happens before they check the 48 month thing. I would like to know whether it hurts to apply and find that you are ineligible. Amex does a good job of this - if you are not eligible for the offer, they tell you before they do the credit check. I guess you need to learn more about various ways in which these credit card applications work.
One way in which it could hurt me is - Chase might approve my CC after a credit check (application goes smoothly), and not give me the bonus because I am ineligible due to 48 month role.

Doesn't matter zilch. What matters:
a) You don't have an existing Sapphire card.
b) It has been at least 48 months since you last received a sign on bonus from any Sapphire card

which is precisely my point. Unfortunately, You are not eligible and no amount of gimmicks and shenanigans is going to change that.
If we got this card 12 years ago but canceled like 8 years ago.. Can I reapply and get the bonus100000?
If you got separated 12 years ago but divorced like 8 years ago can you now get married again and enjoy marriage? If you know the answer to this question, you have your answer.

2. It takes 31 days for "the system" to "recognize" an existing Sapphire cancellation/downgrade to non-Sapphire card.
3. Therefore, cancel now and apply in 31 days.
