I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Does it hurt to apply and check if you can get approved even if you already know you exceed 5/24 or if you got this bonus like 3 years back? Will it affect credit score, or does Chase deny it before performing a credit check? ... Especially for the 48 month rule, they shouldn't have to do a credit check.
Chase will do a hard pull on your credit check and you will probably get approved, but no way you will receive the bonus.
Just tried applying online. After submission there was a message saying they need to review my application and get back to me. I applied with my chase freedom account signed in and hope that I would get an answer instantly.
Does this message typically mean I got rejected?
Not necessarily.
Most of the applications that I submitted in the past two years have gotten that message. Of those, all but one were approved. (Damn Capitol One: My credit history was too good. They wanted customers who didn't pay off their credit cards every month.)
Chase won't match 100k vs the 80k i signed up for last Thursday :/
The rep on the phone told me they'll only honor matching if I get a physical mailer with 100k bonus within 90 days.
Chase never sends me mailers. it's all digital. That's how I got the 80k bonus in the first place.
80k is still a great deal. don't feel bad. If they went back to the 60k points, you would have been kicking yourself for not signing up when it was 80k. Can't be mad at things you can't control. You got a good deal, end of story!

Thanks. That's good to know. Hopefully they will get back to me soon and with an approval.

I got this too and was accepted. Check your account and a tab for the card should show up (similar to your chase freedom card) in about 4-7 days if you were accepted, then the card shows up in the mail shortly after. if you get a rejection letter in 2 weeks you can then call a reconsideration number and try your luck with that.
My story is special. Applied chase sapphire reserve on 01/201/, got bonus points on 04/2017, downgraded to chase freedom 1 year later.
Never applied any other credit cards after that.
I went to brabch to have a banker to apply chase sapphire prefered on last month when it was 80k w/o annual fee, was told that she can not apply that for me
, there was no such an option for her to click.
She called chase bank was told that I received bonus points on 07/2017, instead of 04/2017, but my saved statement clearly shows bonus points was added on 04/2017.
Also, when I log in my account, under "credit cards", I can see several cards include chase sapphire prefered, but I can not click.
I am on the fence whether or not to apply now, because I am almost sure even though chase approves my application, I won't get the bonus points based on their WRONG records.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Went into a branch in Los Angeles county, CA. Asked about the new offer. At first the person helping me did not know about the offer. Upon further investigation he was able to see the 100k points, grocery credit and waived first year. It looks like the branch was advised to expedite the switch to 100k points to match online. Hopefully it works out. Not sure if i will be able to see if the correct offer has been activated online

I cancelled my existing sapphire and asked them how long before I should apply for the new one. The CSR got her supervisor involved and they told me 48 hours is how long it will take to reflect in the system that I am no longer a sapphire card holder. It's a balance between waiting to make sure the system checks out, and when the offer will expire. I wished there was an official end date on the offer so we can plan accordingly.
So , one CSR says 48 hrs and another says 31 days. Make another call and likely you will get another answer.
Each one is likely checking for a different parameter. One maybe checking if you can apply for a card; another maybe be checking when if you apply you will also be eligible for the bonus.
Had no idea MDD still works these days, that trick is pretty old. But it's not like it will ever work for anyone with a bunch of chase cards and a sapphire already.

I don't see my old sapphire card listed in my account
