I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

This is a no brainer. $95 for 100k = $1k. You can downgrade after a year or even ask them to you waive the annual fee (they have done this for my other 2 chase cards in the past). I just got approved for a $22k limit. Will pay off my Auto and Home insurance with this card. Easy 3 month spend.
I got CSP last week for 80K bonus . Just called to see if they would up my bonus to 100K. Frist rep said nope. Called again and asked for a manager. After some back and forth she said "let me see what I can do" and then 5 minutes later "you are good to go." I hope she didn't say that to just get rid of me. YMMV.
What number did you call and how did you navigate the phone tree? Also, when you asked for a manager, did they ask you why and push back before escalating?
Same here, I called multiple times, they said no, and I try to ask something like waive the annual fee they said no as well. They kinda straight forward... and the manager start giving attitude, said there is nothing I can do about it, even you talk to my boss. Wtf.. I applied card 6/1, they start the offer 6/3
when you redeem thru Chase Ultimate Rewards, are prices regular...discounted....or jacked up? what's the best way to maximize my rewards...referrals? tempted to apply.
?
You can easily convert the 100K to $1250 with the 25% bonus on Chase ultimate Rewards and Pay Yourself Back (PYB).
Airfares are essentially the same (not jacked up but an added $5 or $10 fee per ticket). You can pay yourself back on a number of items again with the bonus 25%.
This is a no brainer. Get the card on June 17th when it will be available at Chase branches without the annual fee and with $50 grocery credit and of course 100K points
I've only had time to go through about half of the comments here. Can someone school me on differences between chase freedom and this sapphire preferred?
I know that I can transfer points from freedom to sapphire.
I know that sapphire points redemption is 25% higher for travel categories. I don't travel often, but do burn through gas - does this also qualify?
I see the promo through my chase account. Looking at the terms, it says "With Pay Yourself BackSM, your points are worth 25% more during the current offer when you redeem them for statement credits against existing purchases in select, rotating categories.*". However the * isn't defined anywhere. Does sapphire rotate categories quarterly like freedom does?
I have the sapphire reserve and i got the sapphire preferred 2 months ago and got the 80000 points bonus. As long as you are not Sapphire Preferred you can apply to this.

1000$ cash back or $1250 in travel when booked through chase
If you have opened 5 cards within 24 months you won't qualify for the card
Ok thanks!

managers are supervisors do not have the authority to dole out the equivalent of free cash. So what you are requesting is out of this world.
Or can this $1250 only be spent on Chase Ultimate Rewards or something?
