I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Wait a week even though the offer is showing for him? What would be the logic? Re: Chase not approving cards w/out bonus- that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming!
Backend system takes 3-4 days to fully process downgrade so that he "no longer has a Sapphire card" -- wait a week to play it safe (5 days if in a hurry)
DP: 6/17/21 I scheduled the appointment the day before in app. Total time it took for signing for the credit card is like 10-15 minutes. She only saw the 80k points offer along with the $95 waive fee for 1st year and $50 groceries credit for applying in branch
My Chase app still show 100k points offer so I applied in the bank hoping that extra 20k points will show up when I reach the spending requirement.
Where do you go in the app to schedule an appointment?

For android, at the very bottom of the page there is a Visit Us box. Click on "Schedule a meeting". Choose "Everyday Banking", Then "Apply for a credit card".

Thanks. I PC my CSR on 6/13 and plan to go into the bank to apply for the card on 6/18. Do you think I should wait a few more days to apply or 4 days after I PC the card is sufficient?

Is it weird not being approved right away? Credit score 800+, already have a chase Amazon card with 10k limit and my auto loan is through them. How long does it take to review normally?
Downgraded from Sapphire to Freedom 2 days back and applied today for new Sapphire - got denied - called Chase and was told that the earlier Sapphire card was still showing in the system. Annual fee which was charged on the old one was fully refunded in the new freedom card.
Will this be a hard pull on my credit score and count towards 5/24 rule? When can I reapply again for new Sapphire?
Thank you. Finally going to the branch today, waited for 15 minutes, application done in 10 minutes and instantly approved for $12.8K. The banker asked if I want the card expedited. I said why not?!

I only have a Freedom card w/ Chase. $12.5K CL. New Sapphire card is $13.1K. Someone else said they may readjust your CL's to accommodate the new card. Didn't really matter to me since I don't need a ton. I don't need another credit card but couldn't turn down the huge sign up bonus!
DP: Downgraded my CSR to Freedom on 6/10
Went into branch today to try to apply - banker said it didn't let him apply for CSP for me
Told me this happened to another customer earlier this morning
They called the backend and they told the branch to tell customers to wait 30 days after to apply
They also said that the offer will most likely still be there in a month as chase usually gives them a heads up before pulling offers
So if I make my $4k purchase and pay off, then cancel within 30 days of AF, I can get the first AF waived? I've seen folks report this on the Chase Southwest card, but not here.
The person I responded to stated he had the annual fee (the initial annual fee) waived. So, he was talking about the one coming after the one year anniversary.
The answer to your question is "I don't know". However, I am aware of Chase's rather heavy handed treatment of people that they think may be gaming their bonus rewards system. So, I wouldn't attempt it ... for me, it's not worth the risk. YMMV.
Note: Due to unusual circumstances (>$2K auto repair bills and >$2K veterinary bills) I will meet the $4K spend limit within the first 30 days. I will keep the card for one year then product change it to a Freedom card.
Just went to the chase branch near my place to apply for this card.
1. You do indeed get additional benefit of free annual fee ($95 value) + $50 grocery credit. (Their spec sheets shows 80K, free 1st year AF, $50 grocery credit)
2. The banker's downloaded spec sheet (which is supposed to be updated) only shows 80K points, as is all their physical Marketing material on the walls, but I told the banker the spec sheet is likely not updated even though the date on their document shows today's date, etc.. She called the credit card department and confirmed that the promotion is indeed for 100K points, not 80K points.
3. She confirmed that I would get 100K, free 1st year AF, and $50 grocery credit.
I signed all the documents electronically so I do not have a physical copy. Have not got an email of the signed documents either. Forgot to ask for one.
Note: Before applying it in person, when i logged into my chase.com -> under "Credit cards" on the left -> this card (along with others) already show up as "you're already approved". Some of the business cards (e.g. ink) shows as "You're pre-approved". So I already knew I would get qualified for this card. Online it shows 100K points but no free AF + $50 grocery credit.
Conclusion: Go in-branch to apply for the card if you can.
Tip 1: I made an appointment in advance so I was in and out within 20 minutes, on time.
Tip 2: Request for expedited shipping for free (1-2 days) vs standard (3-5 days). My banker asked me before I asked but FYI just in case they did not ask you.
Thanks to Slickdeals and the thread contributors for all the other tips (E.g. Going in-branch for a better deal + challenging the banker since their info is not updated + make an appointment in advance vs. just walking-in).
What is the wait time? If 2 weeks, then congrats. You are 99% approved. If 7 to 10 days, then most likely you are denied. You can call 888-338-2586 to find out the current status.

I found this article on the web. Never used this source before, so I have no idea well-vetted their info is. Take it as a data point. https://www.cnbc.com/select/cance...tive-ends/
