I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Got a letter saying I need to call to verify it was me that applied? anyone else get that?
I applied and didn't get approved immediately. Called the application status line and they needed me to move some credit around from other cards and then said I was credit approved but needed to speak to the verification team. Was transferred and had to answer some security questions then was immediately approved and requested expedited mailing.
There is a corporate memo circulating around branches, saying customers will get total of 100K points coming into two transactions 80K + 20K, after the $4K minimum spending requirement is met. My banker even printed me a copy of Chase Sapphire Preferred card disclosure stating $0 annual fee first year and $50 grocery credit. If I were you, I would go to another branch rather than spending time to educate your banker who apparently doesn't know shit.

I went to my local branch today and spoke with the rep and on her computer, it is showing only 80,000 points. Doesn't show 1st year annual fee is waived nor the $50 GROCERY credit. When i told her my friends told me about the 100k points, she Googled it and there it was, the $100k. But in their system, it was only 80k. How can I apply and have the 1st year annual fee waived? TIA!
Downgraded my Sapphire to Freedom. Waited 3 days to apply and got denied because they can still see a sapphire card. They told me to wait 30 days and reapply (Data points show people waited 2-3 days). The rep also said since I got denied there was no credit check.
Does anyone know if I have to reapply or can I call recon ?
I've seen one person write they reapplied the next day and got approved. Anyone else?

Can you post a photo of that memo, or maybe even a reference number or something. Cuz I am positive, if I'll go to another branch, I'll encounter another kid that will not know shit.

I don't know what the time limit is for reconsideration. Presumably it is a reasonable time frame for a consumer to respond (7 to 10 days).
I suggest that you wait a couple of working days (Saturdays and Sundays don't count) after the denial, then call the reconsideration line to ask them to re-check the status of your old Sapphire account.

Can someone confirm if I can't have a sap card for past 4 years or received a sap bonus within last 4 years. The chase phone rep told me I need to not have any sap card for last 4 year to receive the new bonus.
The Chase agent that you talked to either misunderstood your question or was woefully confused.

Offer Details for Chase Sapphire Preferred:
100,000 Bonus Points:
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.
There is no requirement that applicants not have possessed a Sapphire account in the past 4 years.
(Personally, I closed my previous Sapphire Preferred account in September of 2019. I applied for, was approved for, and received the 80K bonus points for a new Sapphire Preferred account earlier this year. That's less than 2 years elapsed time.)

Nope he didn't misunderstood. Thanks for confirming. I clearly ask him the difference and he says he doesn't know. The phone rep he called told him that. But yes I do believe I should qualify, the issue is now I can't apply thru branch because it's not an option since I downgrade sap free last week. Might have to eat the annual fee.
Just applied in branch. Showed 80k, AF Wave, Grocery credit. As others said here, the person I worked with said the extra 20k will be added as a bonus. Branch manager talked up the deal right when I walked in about 100k. Glad I waited it out, 80k was tempting :-)

Doctor of Credit was going off a random reddit post that had no proof to back it up in regards to the 17th date. So no surprise.
