I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I downgraded from CSR to CFU on June 18, walked into the branch today (June 30) and got approved for CSP.

Banker confirmed 80k+20k points, $50 grocery credit, and 1st year annual fee waived.
He was unable to request expedite shipment.

How can I request faster shipping?

I called and they processed my card and shipped via UPS in 2 business days free of charge too.

I've heard that AMEX only does a soft pull for current customers. Does Chase have a similar policy or is it a hard pull regardless of whether or not you're anChase customers of a different product.

I applied and got denied. The official reasons were the following:
-high debt relative to income
-one or more credit cards have a high balance compared to the credit line
-insufficient installment loan information
-total available credit on credit cards is too low

I was shocked since I currently have no personal credit card debt. Upon signing up for credit karma I saw that I am an authorized user on one of my family member's cards. He has a 18k owed balance on it with a 20k credit line. Good credit score/no late payments. But I immediately got myself removed as a authorized user and they told me the credit bureaus will reflect this soon.

The only other debt I have is 26k student loans. I make $36,400 a year. My only credit card is from 2013 which has no balance on it. My credit score is like 727.

Should I apply for this chase sapphire again? Or go for something else and not risk getting denied twice?

Hi all - I'm looking to help a family member out in finding a new primarily credit card for them. They spend a healthy amount annually and just want a credit card or two in their wallet, nothing crazy. I have the Sapphire Reserve and was originally thinking that was the best card for them. However, the Preferred sign-up bonus is making me second guess. Does it make any sense to get the Preferred, get the bonus, and then upgrade to the Reserve? Curious on thoughts.

I currently have the csr for a few years, can I cancel that and apply for this like next day? I realize the benefits go down but I'll take the 100k points

YMMV, but it usually goes like this ...
If you didn't receive a new bonus for any Sapphire in the past 48 months: Downgrade the CSR to the Unlimited/Flex. Wait 4-5 business days. Apply for the CSP.

I'll check if it's been 48 months but probably not. In any case I already have the unlimited and flex cards, so not sure I can just downgrade to a card I already have Frown

i use 2% cashback cards as my regular cards (Citi Cash and Fidelity Visa). There are other rotating category cards with higher cashback but it is too much pain to keep track of rotating categories. Guaranteed 2% is much easier.

Referral is currently 80k. I am going to wait and see if they bump up to 100k for referral link as well. (Others said branch offer starts 17th June according to doctor of credit, so I am thinking I will at least wait till the 17th!)

No. He meant June. He wrote that post on June 4 and several people were waiting till June 17 in hopes of the in-branch offer changing to reflect 100K points.

Even today, in-branch says 80K officially with a 20K additional bonus and we have hoards of clowns applying in-branch and then calling and harassing Chase for "proof" that they will get the full 100K points. Big Grin

Once your credit updates you should call the chase card helpline, tell them you want to speak to the recon team and then ask them to reconsider your application. You have 30 days from the date of application to ask them to reconsider. You don't have to reapply.
