I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Actually, yes, That answered your question. A new card = A hard credit inquiry. Therefore you will need to unfreeze your credit reports. Chase having access to your credit reports has nothing to do with you applying for a new card.
Thanks for clarifying. Here is another question. Which credit bureau does Chase acess? Or, will I have to unlock my report at all the 3 major credit agencies?

The best deal is a spouse refeerral. She gets 20K and the applicant gets 100K. No fee waiver or $50 credit but 120K (100K + 20K) points> 100K +waived fee + 50 grocery credit
This wasn't for a referral. In my post I'm only confirming for those who have applied in branch and worried about getting the full 100k. I'm saying that my wife got the 80k + 20k = 100k for applying in branch along with the other benefits.

No one in my family had a preferred in order to refer. I have a reserve. And you're totally right, best is spouse referral for the 120k total. =)

well back when i use to travel a lot for work, that $4k would of been easily spent in 1month. now, even if i was eligible to sign up (i'm not), i don't even know if i can hit $4k in 3 month...
Pre pay expenses + normal expenses + Plastiq for rent or the balance.

He did answer your question. You need to unfreeze your credit report so that Chase can pull an updated report for your CSP application.

Unfortunately, that doesn't answer my question! It is not about whether a hard pull is involved or not. Chase alreday has access to my credit report which it gets via Credit Journey. The question is do I need to unfreeze my credit report for applying for the card.

Your wife will also be delighted that the benefits on this card are going up significantly as of August 15. So is the fee but that won't apply to her until her card anniversary at which point she can jump ship to another card with a hefty bonus.

Chase most likely pulls from Experian. You can always call Chase to inquire. You will need to give them a code to unlock your credit file for their review anyway.

I visited the bank a little bit ago and signed up for the card in person. I can confirm that when signing up, they waive the first year's annual fee, you still get the 100k welcome bonus, and you get a $50 credit for grocery spending.
Me and my wife went to Chase Bank last Sat. 7/3/21, we were both approved (Banker told us we would each get) 100k welcome bonus, wave AF of $95, and a $50 credit for grocery spending. However we left without any documents, nothing in writing.
I just noticed that the Chase app says spend $4K in 90 days & get 80,000 points and no mentions of waived AF or grocery credit... Confused

The banker told me not to worry. It will say 80k bonus but when you actually get you'll receive 80k plus 20k for the full 100k.

My spouse applied for CSP in January this year and I am an authorized user on the same card. If he needs to refers me for the new CSP card so that I can avail the 100k bonus, do I need to be removed from the list of authorized users on his CSP first?

I asked the banker to print out the offer page (see attachment) when I went to apply for the card yesterday. You can see the annual fee waiver and $50 grocery credit on it. It still shows 80,000 points but the banker confirmed it's 100K. Hope this helps.

Good that I checked the thread before going to bank. I will now refer my wife for her preferred card instead of going to bank because I agree 20000 extra points is better than $150!

Went to my local Chase and the banker said he was not aware of the 100k promo. He said it is only 80k and even showed me his screen. Maybe the 20k extra is hidden and he doesn't know about it?
