I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

For those who have made a referral to earn the extra 20K points, bad news here. Chase Sending Out 1099s For Referral Bonuses[onemileatatime.com]. When I referred my spouse for Freedom Flex last year and earned 10K points, however, I never received 1099 from Chase. So I don't know how reliable of the info in the blog. I just wanted to share this and give everyone a heads up about the possible 1099 sent from Chase for referral bonus.
Assume (hope) everyone is aware that if they drop $4k out of the gate to hit the bonus that if they don't pay that entire amount off by the due date then interest starts accruing (likely at 16% APR) until you do. Thus minimizing your benefits.
Did your banker try creating a guest profile and apply?
I asked them to create a guest profile - the rep called a branch manager and they told the rep that is not allowed and both he (the branch rep) and I would get in trouble for doing this.... WTF
Just confirmed with the branch they are extending the in-branch offer starting July 18. But just says waived first year and 100k sign up bonus. No other credits.

Uh, that's how all credit cards work (barring no payments/no interest specific limited promos).
If you don't know that you probably should do some more reading before getting any credit cards.
So, unlike the $100K Sign-up Bonus, which is awarded on the transaction date of the $4K purchase (not tied to the monthly billing cycle), the 20K Referral Bonus is indeed tied to the monthly billing cycle.
Based on the numerous reports of SDers who are waiting to get their referral bonus after their wives or spouses have made their initial purchases, it seems likely that this is the case.

Chase will send 1099-MISC if your total combined referrals are worth $600 or more across all Chase cards
Your single 10k referral was worth $100 so no 1099-MISC
Please report back if successful. It would be the first.
EDIT: Clarification, please report back if you signed up online and was subsequently able to get the in-branch perks because of your complaint.
So chase branch escalation called me that day while I was working, called them back this morning and at first she was asking for like a coupon code or email so she could apply the promotion. I explained that it was the banker who told me about the promotion and filed the complaint so they transferred me over to credit card services where they told me that I had a note on my account to waive the annual fee and give the grocery credit! I don't see the annual fee on my online account. For those who applied online and didn't get the annual fee waived how soon did you see it hit?

EDIT: The timing of your monthly bills makes a difference. So, you'll see the referral bonus in the first or the second monthly bill after the new account is approved (not after the first transaction).
