I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

thanks for the info! I downgraded on monday and am going to try online next monday to be safe laugh out loud

QQ: I currently have CSR with 150K points on them. Planning on downgrading card to Freedom to apply for CSP to get the additional 100k. I know CSP only does 1.25X per point rather than 1.5X....is it still worth it? Is there a better way to maximize the useage of the points with CSP? Thank you!

Huh? Why won't it help? He can get the card quicker, charge his $5K to be eligible for the $4K spend and be done with it. Not sure what you're alluding to.

The online offer with 100K sign-up bonus points will at least be extended to the end of this month. The in-branch offer will have the same SUB points plus $95 annual fee waived. The additional $50 grocery credit when signing up in branch will end today.

If you're doing a product change (downgrade), you don't have to wait a full 30 days to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Reports of how long it takes Chase's system to flush itself vary from 2 days to a week. My suggestion is to wait at least 4 days. If you're not in a hurry, then wait a full week.

You can downgrade to a Chase Freedom Flex, Chase Freedom Ultimate, or Chase Slate. The fact that you already have a Chase Freedom does not preempt you from having multiple Freedom accounts.

Instead of doing a product change, if you decide to cancel your Chase Sapphire Reserve, then the answer is "yes" you may have to wait up to 30 days for Chase's system to purge itself of your Sapphire account ownership. (Again, anecdotal reports indicate that some people have been able to apply sooner than that - but I wouldn't count on such similar luck prevailing, if I were you.) But why would you cancel the card? Downgrading is faster and it preserves your card's credit history.

She doesn't need to wait the full 30 days after a product change (downgrade). See explanation, above.

Presumably, your wife's last bonus came more than 48 months ago, otherwise she would not be eligible for the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Once approved for the new Chase Sapphire Preferred card, she cannot do a product change (upgrade or downgrade) until her anniversary date. So, she's locked into the CSP for one year. At that time, she may apply for an upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card or apply for a downgrade to any of the cards mentioned in the explanation, above.

excuse the hyperbole, but this seems like a never ending 100k offer
Thanks for your help! I converted my wife's card last week and got $87 annual fee credit refunded. I'll have her apply for CSP through my referral link this Friday.

I opened my Chase Freedom 1.5 years ago and I think I got like a $400 bonus. Would I still be eligible for the 100k bonus?

Oh because you said "You haven't received a new cardmember bonus on this account in the past 48 months" and I was wondering if that counted as a cardmember bonus.

My card came < 2 months ago and I met the spending requirements about 10 days ago and the 100k points posted when my 2nd statement closed on the 22nd.

Nice to see all those points and now wondering what to do with them?

Use pay yourself back program unless you will use these points with the reserve card for 1.5

Nothing related to your Chase Freedom account. See below link about your eligibility of getting the sign-up bonus of CSP.
