I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Sorry for not responding sooner. Since, I can't check my main PC, I sent a Secure Message to Chase.
I have met the $4,000 minimum spending requirement to qualify for the new card sign-up bonus.
Question: If I redeem the eligible purchases under the Pay Yourself Back option, will that disqualify those purchases from counting toward the minimum spending requirement. If so, do I risk losing the new card sign-up bonus that was already rewarded to my UR account?
And Chase's response today:
Thank you for contacting us. Rest assured that you will not lose the new cardmember bonus that you received if you take advantage of the Pay Yourself Back offer. (Emphasis added.)
We hope that this resolves your inquiry about your account for today.
If you need to contact us again, please send a secure message.
Thank you,

I stand corrected and will go back and revise my earlier posts.
Remember, pyb statement credits aren't very useful if you've already paid off your balance. It will require you to perform even more spend greater than the $4k to use up the statement credits. Unless there is a way to request a check.

I respectfully disagree. There is no force spending here. Pay Yourself Back turns into statement credit with higher redemption value. You can still let the credit sit in your account to pay off future purchases on the card. Unless you will have no future expense on CSP, you will find a way to pay off your future expense with the statement credit one day. I don't think there is a difficulty to have $1000~ expense in the coming year before we are hit with another annual fee.

Agree, and I also think you can request the money to your bank or a check
Just got the bonus on the 3rd card ive opened for my family, this has been awesome!
You got them for 300K points and they got you for at least $12K spend! They may be laughing all the way to the bank because you might be the ideal sucker they are looking for who will pay them rich dividends for years to come.

That's great if you spend. But this is SD. Most of us don't spend. Plus alot of us prepaid alot of bills with the $4k. That's even less bills to spend the $1250 on. You are basically converting this to a $5250 spend to get 100k points card. Would everyone be jumping at this if that was originally advertised?
I have a different view in the SD community though; that is, most of us do spend and thus we are here to find a way to save more $$$. As a dad and husband of a family of 4, there are certain fixed expenses every month such as groceries, gas, dining, and home improvement. These are all usual expenses for ordinary people. And groceries, dining, home improvement all fall into Pay Yourself Back categories. So when you say the Pay Yourself Back option is useless, it might be useless to you but it is probably useful to many of us.
If you do not need to pay anything for your food, your gas, and maintain your home, then you are a very lucky person. Peace.

Thank you. The first one came a long time after mine so I was aware. I did request the Pay Yourself back to all my grocery/restaurant purchases. It says the credit will be applied to my statement in up to 3 business days.
