I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Anyone know how to get the $50 grocery credit? I applied and was approved in branch 1.5 months ago. Still not sure how to get the grocery credit. I've certainly purchased more than $50 worth of groceries.
You would be a 2nd person with this issue. Not sure what the first guy did or if they even got it. Also not sure how/why your and his branch offers are different than the rest of us.

I got all my credits as soon as the grocery transaction posted ( a couple days after the purchase when the transaction went from pending to posted).

Can I cancel this as soon as I get my 100K points and cash it out? Is the activation fee gone or prorated?

It pretty much just automatically happens when the charge posts. Mid June should have qualified. When you go into the details of the transaction online, is it being coded properly as "Grocery Stores"?

You can, sure, but the gains are pretty minimal. Their policy for straight up cancellations is you only get a refund for an annual fee (if you even paid one for the first year given the in-branch offer) if you cancel within 30 days and they don't credit your 100k points until after that time period usually. Prorated is only for downgrades and they won't let you downgrade in the first year. So given this info, most people who want to dump the card asap just downgrade/cancel within 30 days after the year 2 annual fee hits to avoid any extra charges.

Thank you - do you now know if you go this route do both the cards count separately for chase 5/24 rule in future or as one application since they are done close together. I would think the former but just checking.
For the future, the Chase Reserve and Chase Sapphire Preferred will count as two new credit card accounts.

For the present, if you already have 4 new credit cards within the past 5 years, each of these cards would count as your 5th card under Chase's 5/24 rule. (Chase's system doesn't have enough time to process the two card applications, so their system only sees 4 cards in the past 5 years.)

can anyone see their progress towards the new account bonus on the Chase website? I can see the progress on the app but not the website. I thought it was weird. I used to be able to see my progress on the ultimate rewards site.

You are probably buying groceries at Walmart and target and expecting the credit. Chase can only tell if it's groceries by who is the merchant. You have to go to a dedicated grocery store like Safeway or whole foods. Walmart and target won't count even if you are buying groceries there.

Thinking about applying to this CSP card.

I tried to read as many pages as I can, what is the best way to apply to it and get the most benefits?

Wife has the CSR, can she refer me to apply for the CSP and get the 20k referral points? or does she need a CSP?

Walmart seems to be YMMV -- I had three smallish purchases at Walmart automatically qualify for my grocery credit. One Neighborhood Market and two regular Supercenters. But no purchases at Target qualified for me.

Applied in person at a branch today, since I already had the pre-approval offer it was pretty straightforward and no annual fee for 1st year

Also applied for new checking account while I was there with the $225 promo

1) Best way to apply is through a player 2 referral to get 100k + 20k referral bonus.
2) If option 1 is not possible, apply in branch to waive the 1st year AF of $95.
3) Need to have CSP to refer CSP.

Your wife will not be able to refer you for the CSP because only CSP cardholders can do the CSP referral.
