I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with the referral process, but only the referrer gets 20k bonus right? Not both get a bonus?

Yeah, only the referrer gets the 20k. That's the reason it helps to have a referral in the household so that you can combine the UR points.

Same here. Not only did I get the credit, but was able to PYB on the full transaction amount too so I think we double dipped on that. Smilie
There is a mix report on this. You weren't lying and no need to show proof. It all depend on how the store rang up the purchase. I made a purchase at Target and it didn't count as grocery so it didn't let me PYB. Walmart and Target purchase are YMNV.

My wife just got this offer in her account. Deadline to apply is the 18th. I haven't run across the referral process. Could someone elaborate?

Agreed. Target, yes. No reports of it working there. Walmart 3+ reports of it working. Like I said. Even my battery purchase was listed as grocery. I alway put the battery separately on its own receipt to photocopy and save it for warranty needs if needed. That battery 108.xx basically netted me a shade over $20 in my final credit to get to $50.

Holy murphy long thread. Didn't see this in the FAQ - can you just go into a branch and say you want to apply for CSP w/ the uplifted offer, or is there a specific person / offer code to provide for in-branch uplifted offer?

No offer code. Walk into branch. Say you want to apply for the CSP as it has the 100K points. That's it. You save the first year's card fees of $95 if you walk into a branch v/s applying online.

Rumor is August 27th at the earliest, based on a DoC post.

Although that's a great deal - good job!, the math seems like it should have been even better(?). If you had 106,000 points (100,000 sign-up bonus + 6,000 shed purchase), that converts to $1,060 x 1.25 extra value for Pay-Yourself-Back = $1,325 credit. That would effectively make the shed $6,000 - $1,325 = $4,675. But you only received $1,250 in Pay-Yourself-Back credit ($6,000 - $4,750 = $1,250). I wonder why you didn't get the whole $1,325? Maybe you used those points on something else?
You're absolutely right! I goofed on the math.

I applied online and got the dreaded letter saying I had to call to complete the application. An hour and 56 minutes on hold, and then they asked for my mailing and physical address and I got approved. Total call time was 2 hours and 4 minutes. I have 800+ credit score and have been a Freedom holder for over 5 years .

Hello, on my chase app, it used to say spend 4000 to get 100,000 bonus points, but now it says spend 4000 to get 80,000 bonus points. Does everyone else's app say that too?

Why would you buy a car battery at walmart? Costco has lifetime warranty and you dont need to save your receipt. Not a savvy shopper.

Its actually 3 years at Costco from what I understand.

So my Chase app says I have 80k points pending (after spending 4k). Why doesn't it show the full 100k points pending?

Yup. Guilty as charged. I over pay for my insurance and do not pay for Costco membership as its 45 minutes away and we do not shop there. I live in the poor side of town with Wal-Marts.

You on the other hand, do NOT carry adequate insurance coverage on your cars, live in a rich area where there are no Wal-Marts and shop at Costco.

Sound about right?

LMAO

Big Grin Nice. He is the self righteous riding a high horse. There are always a couple like that in the bunch. Smilie
BTW. He is talking about buying a battery there, then returning it for a replacement before the full 3 years to get a new one and rinse and repeat as Costco does not test the battery for warranty replacements. He is scamming Costco and is feeling good about it too. Stick Out Tongue

Where does it say that. If you are talking about the spending tracker line thingy, then its supposed to say that. If its in the points section, you truly are missing 20K points and I have read at least 2 or 3 cases like your's in this thread.
