I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Need clarification. If I redeem for pay as you go statement credit why would anyone redeem for a flight? The pay as you go option seems to be higher than the statement credit?

It's situational but travel is usually higher value.
Base statement credit or cash = 1 cent per UR
PYB (dining, etc.) = 1.25 cents
Transfer to travel partners = varies from maybe .5 cents to 2+ cents
So if you can find the right travel partner and actually use it for travel, there's often better value. For example, there's a few Hyatt category 1 hotels for 100/night or 5000 points/night = 2 cents per UR. Or something like Park Hyatt Maldives 800/night or 30k points/night.
Same general concept for flights. For example, Southwest is usually in the ~1.5 cent range but if you already have a companion pass and get value from that, then it's going to turn into 3 cents.
The thing is if you don't travel with Chase's specific partners then there's less value.
In general, most of the long-term value of the CSP/CSR will come from actually traveling. Benefits like the primary car insurance aren't super useful for people that don't travel, etc. The people that don't travel much are likely to just get their bonus and then dump the card asap. Chase is mostly just hoping to recoup some of their initial losses from the huge sign up bonus on the people that stick around and pay the annual fees for many years.
Agree - if eligible, this card will pay for itself. You can always downgrade after 13 months if you feel you're not getting your money's worth or dont want to pay an AF.
So if my wife has the preferred she can refer me? And get bonus as well (20k)? And I will get 80k.
If I had this card and cancelled it a year ago will I be eligible?
Once you're approved you can go into your chase online account and add it to any digital wallet you have (Google Pay, PayPal, etc) and use it days before the card gets there. It took almost a week exactly for me to get my physical card, though I did apply on a Friday afternoon.
I have the chase mobile app and the digital wallet won't show the card, I called useless customer service 5 times and they don't have a clue to fix it! Do you know what I can do or call a special number?

I think you are right. At this time I'm seeing the same value for statement credit as I do for travel, seems better to cash them in…

I transferred 80K points to United Airline and redeemed for a business class from NYC to China with Swiss Air. $4,500 if buy the ticket with cash. 1 pt to 1.25 c redemption is really low.

Mine didn't show up until I received an email a few days later saying the digit wallet was ready.
