I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Based on my schedule, I ask scheduled to open an account over the phone tomorrow. Will this be treated as the normal promo, or in store that waives the 1st year fee? If not waived, does anyone have experience getting it waived successfully?
I think someone asked this but.. what day does your 3 months start on? If it was activation I would wait a few days so I could use it on big black Friday purchases but I don't think I'll be able to lol
Not from the activation date.
According to the Offer Details, the 3 months starts when the account is opened.
When is the account opened? "Credit card issuers typically start bonus periods from account opening, which is the day your account is actually approved." Reference: https://thepointsguy.com/2016/09/...-on-bonus/
However, this isn't always so. Sometimes, the bank doesn't get around to recording the official opening date until a day or two later.
"Starting after your next account anniversary, earn up to $50 in statement credits each account anniversary year on hotel stays purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards."
I would suggest checking on that with Chase via their Secure Messaging system (to get their answer in writing).
So will I get 100k points if the authorized user makes the purchase on their card?
Any qualified purchase made by an authorized user counts toward the 4K spending threshold.*
It's as if you paid for the item yourself.
And you're responsible to repay the credit card company for the bill when it becomes due.
* From the Offer Details:
"Purchases" do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
What's the process to apply in store to get fyf? Just go in and ask what promos they have?
While not required, it is suggested that you call ahead of time to make an appointment. Just tell them that you would like to apply for a new Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card. No need to mention the 100K nor the annual fee waiver, those perks come automatically with an in-branch application. However, since some SDers have indicated problems with receiving the $50 hotel credit, you might want to inquire about that. Also, ask them what documents that they would like you to bring in (ID card, SS card, etc.).

I just wanted to add my 2 cents to this. Based on my past experience, the account opening date is always the same as the application date regardless of whether or not the card was instantly approved or approved by Reconsideration team days later. I think it is because each application is tied to a unique application ID with date of application. When Recon team approves a specific application with the application ID, the account opening date would be the application date. This may vary by different card issuers though.

2. Sign up online without a referral. You get the 100K sign-up offer. The $95 annual fee is not waived.
3. Sign up in branch. You get the 100K sign-up offer. The $95 annual fee is waived.

For my particular case, I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred on March 23rd.
I received an email from Chase on March 30 saying my card had been approved.
Credit bureaus show my CSP account was officially opened on March 29.

I had the same idea and schedule it over the phone but it's to only ask questions. The banker said if I wanted to apply, I would have to visit the branch. Scheduled at 130pm and the banker called at 1130am to confirm the phone appointment.

Any idea when this promotion will end? I have my CSR to be downgraded on next Monday.
Thanks!
Reports indicate that this offer will likely be around at least through August 27th[doctorofcredit.com] as some email offers are showing that end date. Could obviously be extended beyond that as well.

There is no way for you to sign up via the phone.
My email confirmation says "Your phone meeting is set, let's add it to your calendar!" Topic is apply for credit card. From this, it seems like apply over the phone (setup through the app) is a valid approach. I guess I'll find out tomorrow and update.
