I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Appreciate if someone who's had experience with this can chime in and let me know if I made a mistake here. I just returned from a Chase branch where I went with intention to apply for this card. Was told that because I closed my CSP card on Aug 16 that I'd have to wait until Sep 16 to apply for it again. I originally opened that card in 2013. Nowhere in the T&Cs does it say that you cannot apply (and be approved for the CC and offer) if you previously closed a CSP or CSR within 30 days. I was under impression you could apply after 4-7 days from not having the CSP card anymore.
Thank you in advance for your input.

It's been widely reported in this discussion thread and elsewhere that you can apply after 4 to 7 days of making a product change (downgrade) from a Chase Sapphire card.
Unfortunately, the wait period after closing a Sapphire account is as the bank told you, up to 30 days.

Thank you. Wasn't aware of a discrepancy on the days between online and branch application. I'll go the online route then.
And as far as clearing your old account from Chase's system is concerned, it doesn't matter whether you apply online or in-branch. Either way, you'll have to wait it out.
I have no plans to keep the card any longer than I have to. Credit score is 825+. I could care less about APR as I pay my credit cards in full at each statement close. For me, credit cards are for making money on rewards (free money!!), not spending money I do not actually have. The only cards I find actually useful are Amex as their extended warranty smokes Visa/Mastercard. Too much of a hassle to get money back from Visa/MC for extended warranty issues. Amex has never given me problems. I buy all my electronics with Amex for that very reason.
Was anyone else successful with calling them to waive the 95$ annual fee while applying for the card online? If yes, what's again a good phone nr for that?
I'm in the same boat. I downgraded on the 18th and went into the branch yesterday (8/26) and they said I had to wait until 9/15 because the credit bureau still sees the Sapphire Card on my account.
I'm going back in today (7 days later) to apply for the CSP at another branch. If I can't get it, I'll apply for the IHG Card.

A few posts above was saying that you might have better luck just apply online (if you downgraded your CSR). Maybe try that route if it doesn't work for you again in branch today. Look for an referral and split the bonus will basically cover the annual fee for applying online.

It used to be 3 to 5 days, but apparently it seems Chase now takes a longer time to register the downgrade on their system and remove the canceled card from your profile. I always advise to wait 5 to 7 days. Some members here reported their product change request had taken as many as 9 days to complete. I wouldn't be surprised if the wait time is even longer by now.
I suggest you go to your branch again to sign up by this Friday which is the last day of the offer according to some members' email invite. As of today there is no sign the offer will be extended. I could be wrong though. If your banker says your are still ineligible to sign up, ask him to sign you up as a guest which means not to use your profile to apply. This is gonna be the same as you signing up online yourself without your profile, but doing it in-branch will get your $95 AF waived for the first year. Good luck!
Edit: Thanks to 1dash1 to sort out the references.

The best that you can do is request expedited delivery (2 days).

You can also prepay your internet, tv and phone bills upfront for 6 months. It will stay as credit in your account.
