I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Just got off the phone and they approved my request. However, the strange thing was that the credit line was only $5000. I also have 2 other chase cards so the total credit line for all 3 together is actually $18000. The funny thing is that the rep said I could call in and allocate the credit limits from one card to another so might end up doing that.
It means you have reached the maximum credit limit allowed by Chase across the board. $5000 is the minimum credit limit for a Visa Signature card like CSP. Credit reallocation is a common practice when a card issuer does not extend extra credit to an individual but willing to approve a new credit card account. Good thing is you still get approved.

Hm...not sure if Chase is trying to block the loophole. We'll need more data points to confirm this.
In regards to applying online, I suggest you apply without logging in to your Chase account. You don't earn any additional benefits by doing it but bear a higher risk to get denied. All you need is a successful app submission by the supposed deadline today to secure the offer of the 100K bonus points. Anything else can always be negotiated with Chase Recon later.

I would apply as Guest (like I did) just to play it safe. You should get instant approval.
If not you can always call the Application Recondition Line at (888) 207-2127
Thanks to you both. I'll go ahead and apply as a guest to be safe.

You should check your other Chase credit cards (if not otherwise discussed with the Chase agent, when you phoned).
It is not uncommon for Chase to reallocate credit limits between accounts unilaterally, without notice to the cardholder either before or after doing so, to provide the minimum $5K needed for the new Chase Sapphire credit card.

Note to others: The SD system is having problems right now processing posts ... or at least they had problems with mine. It posted with weird formatting protocols (like frankl1001's post, immediately before this one). After posting my original message, I had to go back and manually edit it so that it looked right.

As I recall, the Chase agent that approved my wife's card said that it would take 7 to 10 days ... but it turned out taking two weeks. So maybe the agent meant business days?
If you need your card faster (2 day delivery), I would suggest that you call their Reconsideration Line. I find that the Reconsideration agents seem to have more resources to deal with new card issuance than the regular Customer Service agents.
Reconsideration Line: (888) 270-2127
Also provided the regular Customer Service number, FYI.

Downgraded CSR to CFU on 16th. Went to Chase branch #1 on the 23rd. Banker couldn't get the CSP to show that I was eligible on my account.
I kindly asked to do "Guest Application" She refused and said we need to do on your account as you are already a customer.
Fast forward to today earlier went to a different Chase bank and again tried to apply. This person also couldn't do it on my account.
I again asked to do "Guest" applications. They also refused & stated that it wouldn't make a difference as the system goes by Your SS#.
So I bit the bullet went home hopped on computer did Application online and got INSTANT approval. FYI I DID NOT sign into my Chase account but just filled out application as a "new" individual.
YMMV but this worked for me and got approved before the supposed deadline of 8/27. Stinks I have to eat the $95 fee.
Chase announced earlier this year that they extended the existing Pay Yourself Back categories on both the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve through Sept. 30, 2021. This was originally set to expire on April 30, 2021. The program could be further extended but as of today no update from Chase.

Anyone know if the 25% bonus redemption on Dining/Groceries/Home Improvement through 9/30 will be replaced with something else?
Because that's the last known date the invitation has been extended to prospective customers. We were just guessing that this applied to all customers. Chase has been less than forthcoming about when the promo will end. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/re...able-on....
Here is my experience. I had the CSR and downgraded to Freedom on 8/21. I went to the bank today 8/27 to apply for the CSP to get the AF wavier but the banker said it was not available for me to apply in branch. So i went home and used my wife referral link for the 20K bonus and applied that way. i was instantly approved online. I had my CSR since 12/1/16. hope this helps someone.

Unfortunately, I had the same experience in branch today. Downgraded on Sunday and tried to apply today. Banker wouldn't let me apply as a guest. He did say he thought the 100,000 bonus point offer would be extended, but I don't think I'm willing to risk it, as he didn't have any specific info. Guess I'll have to eat the annual fee too unfortunately.
I do see the Preferred as an option in the Chase app and in my online account. If the option to apply shows up in my account, does that mean the downgrade has processed in the online system and I'll be approved if I apply online? Or would it be safer to apply as a guest? Thanks again, everyone!
