I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I downgraded my CSR yesterday, today I logged in my chase online banking-->credit cards, did not see CSP.
Then went all the way down, clicked "find more cards", and I can see CSP. There are 2 options, sign-in to apply, or apply as guest.
Looks like it does not need to wait for ~7 days after downgrading?
Anyone end up using their bonus points for "pay yourself back" categories now instead of saving them for future travel bookings?
I used some Chase Marriott rewards a few years back to book a hotel that would've otherwise cost us $800-900 and I only had 40-50k points then, the value conversion for some of the offers were great.
This time around I don't foresee much travel and I was tempted to take out $1k from points since $1250 in travel doesn't entice me much, BUT let me tell you if I end up paying $1800 for a hotel vacation stay and find out I could've used 100k points I'll be quite disappointed lol.

Thank you. I figured since the points were worth the same if used for the proper pay yourself back categories vs travel, it was better to use them now, then book future travel thru chase rewards portal for 5x back in points...

The odd thing with chase travel is that there is always an opportunity to get much more than 1.25x value so just weigh our what proper categories now will pay out vs the potential of more later.
But also, a few hundred bucks isn't a game changer because it also limits where you might be able to stay if only 1-2 hotels offer great value VS where you truly wanna stay.

4-7 days is just a guideline, not a requirement. Indeed, individual experiences are all over the place. So, in your case, it's likely that you can apply now for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card online.
Everyone here applied csp and csr together? Just saw several posts mentioned MDP.
I think most people are unaware of the option. Of those that are aware, few are willing to take the risk of something going amiss or willing to take the extra effort involved in the MDP. Of those who are willing, fewer still have the resources to muster up $8K worth of purchases in 3 months.
For me, I would have come out ahead by applying for both cards. But I just hated the idea of wasting so much of the CSR benefits (I have curtailed travel during the COVID epidemic). And I wanted to preserve my options (the CSP made my 4th new credit card in the past 24 months, the CSR would have been my 5th).
I ended up just getting the reserve since we are going on a honeymoon soon to the UK. The preferred doesn't seem that great in general if you travel at all ever.

I waited 5 days. But I had to apply online. Applying in branch seems to require longer waits these days.

How do you get more than 1.25x? Transferring?

However, if you plan on applying in branch ($95 annual fee waived), I'd say your odds of approval are closer to 50-50.
