I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Can I get the AF waived if I apply in branch still? Been holding off applying and haven't seen anyone mentioning it in the past week.

The CSP isn't a credit card for everyone. You'll need to have good to excellent credit to have a chance at getting approved.

If you have bad credit, you may consider secured credit cards which usually require a security deposit equivalent to the credit limit. Secured credit cards will also be reported to the major credit bureaus so you can build and repair your credit in a long run. I recommend Discover secured credit card. It gives you 2% cash back on up to $1,000 worth of spending per quarter on dining and gas, and 1% on all other purchases. For a secured credit card, they're unheard of. More importantly, Discover automatically evaluates your account for possible upgrade to an unsecured card after 8 months and the annual fee is $0. The only con is the maximum credit limit is $2,500 which may be too low for some people.

If I have bad credit, can I put down $20,000 or something and let the credit card companies hold it for a month or a year so I can get good points/rewards somehow? Or do you recommend some sort of stock options that give frequent flyer miles?

Apply again after few more days, or no chance at all?
That is fine, at least I can call chase to upgrade freedom back to CSR if reconsideration won't work for me.
Thanks!
Any updates on progress from this?

I believe I saw this in the thread somewhere but cannot seem to find it now.

Once I hit the 4k spending limit the points post when - next billing cycle?

example account started say 8/15 (stmt ending date will be 9/15 or so). Made the 4k purchase (more than that actually) on 9/1. Bonus points will hit on when - the next stmt period i.e. the one ending 10/15 perhaps?

Taking a trip early Nov and want to be sure I have the points for the airfare

The points will be issued on the statement when you hit 4k spend. So in your hypo, points should post 9/15 or so.

If you really fall in love with the CSR, you may try to convert your no-fee card to CSR in a later day. Another member reported that he had called to upgrade his Freedom card to CSR while having CSP simultaneously.

A senior member here was even kind enough to contact Chase to find out more details about the possibility of holding two Sapphire cards simultaneously.
I was reading that you must have a card for 13 months in order to upgrade back to CSR so I would not be able to upgrade the CSP to CSR, but would that not apply to the Freedom, since its card length would be considered from when the CSR pre-downgrade was initially open?

Edit:Agent said you can do 2 PCs every 2 years . So yes, I could upgrade Freedom back to CSR but not CSP until 13 months after opened

Any thoughts which Freedom to downgrade too? I was thinking the Freedom Unlimited. I hate keeping up with rotating categories

Anyway, its done. Chose unlimited. Not going to use this card often anyway. Will probably put it in the drawer once I get the CSP.

Hoping I am clear to apply by next Friday at the latest

Data point: I downgraded my CSR (received bonus on Feb 2017) to Freedom on 09/02/21, saw CSP after logged in my chase account. Applied 09/08/21, immediately denied.
My credit score ~820, did not apply any credit cards since Jan 2017.
Wonder why you were denied? I suggest you call to inquire. At teh very least you will know the reason which right now doesn't make any sense.
