I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Can someone please tell me how I can check when I got my original CSR bonus. I'm not sure if it's been 48 months. Thanks!

Signed up in branch today, waived $95 yearly fee, 100k bonus, but yeah no grocery credit as folks have said. Sweet deal all around, just wish I could get a virtual account number to use in the meanwhile.

Help: I am getting the runaround.

Downgraded my CSR to Freedom on Saturday. Scheduled a phone call through Chase portal with agent for phone call (they weren't local branch). Spoke to them and was told that they couldn't check to see if I was eligible for CSP bonus on their system. He was nice but clueless.

Told me I could apply any time for the CSP but no guarantees that I would be eligible for bonus.

What is the correct wording that I need to use to confirm if the CSR has fallen off their system?

Clearly, I screwed this up and need some guidance on what to say...

Thanks in advance.

Does the non AF sapphire count as having a sapphire card on profile? I just went into the branch and they told me that I would have to close the account and wait 48m after that to apply.

That is false. It may count which is true but its 48 months from when you received the sign up bonus, not 48 months from when you closed the account

That's what I said, it even states 48m from the last signup bonus which I clearly stated to him. He said no its 48m from when you close your card.

The offer of $50 grocery credit expired on 07/17. It has been replaced by $50 travel credit since then, and such credit is offered to all new applicants, both online and in-branch.

The person you spoke to is clueless. One big mistake he said is you could apply any time for the CSP but no guarantees that you would be eligible for bonus. In fact, you can't get approved with no bonus. If you are approved as a new applicant, you must be eligible for the 100K bonus points assuming you meet the $4K minimum spend.

Most of these local bankers are clueless so I don't blame him. When speaking to them, you should first mention you are interested in signing up the CSP but want to make sure you are eligible to apply before heading down to the branch. Ask whether they can check your customer profile to see if you are eligible to sign up the CSP. You don't need to mention anything about the recent downgrade of CSR. They are clueless. Getting your CSR downgrade involved will only make things more complicated for them. If they see you are eligible, it means you are clear on Chase system. If not, wait few more days and try again.

I know its been asked a million times but i cant find it

How long after closing, say a chase sapphrire card, should I wait before applying for this new card? 2 weeks? 1 month?

TU
Quote from ScottoDono :
If you product changed 1 week, if you closed 30 days

But yeah, reading the last two pages of the thread would have told you that
DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EXISTING ACCOUNT! As ScottoDono says, it will take 30 days for Chase's system to clear.

Instead, doing a product change (downgrade to a Freedom card) is much faster. 1 week or less, if applying online. 1-2 weeks, if applying in-branch.

Yes, the no-fee Sapphire card does count. You will have to product change it to another card such as Freedom, wait 1 to 2 weeks for the old Sapphire card data dropping off from Chase system, before you can sign up the new CSP.

oh darn it, I totally forgot I had that no af sapphire card when I initially PC it from the preferred years ago. Guess another PC and 2 weeks.

Called Chase and yes they state that the nonaf sapphire still counts. I PC it to another freedom unlimited. So I have 5 freedom cards. LMAO

I also asked if there is a way to check when the sapphire falls off the account he states to check with the credit bureau. Or it could be 1-4 weeks. But like you mentioned I'll wait 2 weeks before applying and having my credit get hit again.

So if i was denied online due to many credit pulls since i have been going thru a refi and also preqalifications for another purchase, etc, plus got denied for the citi card, is it worth trying to go in a branch to apply for this one?
How do you know the reason for your online application denial? Are you guessing or did you call the Chase Reconsideration Line?
  • If you are guessing, your first step would be to call the Reconsideration Line (888) 270-2127 to find out the reason for denial.
  • If you already called, then applying in-branch would probably be pointless. You need to wait until at least one (preferably more!) of your credit pulls within the past six months drops off your credit history.

If I downgraded my existing CSR, can I apply CSP 30 days later in order to get 100,000 bonus points ? Or I have to wait 48 months to apply either CSP or CSR? Thanks!
