I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

After PC from CSR to FU on 9/5 I got a letter from Chase confirming my downgrade and it notes that the account changes will go into affect on 11/1 (no annual fee, add FTX) - does this mean that the system still sees me as a Sapphire holder?

I'm still learning this card. I booked a hotel through ultimate rewards. It shows that it hit my card on the 6th. I got only 2x points rather than the expected 5x points. I was also expecting the $50 hotel credit to be applied. What an I missing, or should I call customer service to see what I did wrong?

I called chase to get clarification. Hotels booked through ur portal does 5x points, except when the $50 annual hotel credit will be applied to it. For the transaction that the $50 annual hotel credit is applied towards, 2x points is rewarded

Here are the differences.

1. Signing up in branch will have $95 annual fee waived for the first year.

2. Referral with 20K points can only be done online. No referral in branch.

Went into branch and each associate mentions there are no additional promotion while applying in person virus applying online so therefore they try to force me to apply online... has this happened to anybody else as well?

Don't get too crazy about your profile lookup. Basically when you walk into a branch and sign up a credit card, the first thing the banker will ask is if you are a Chase customer with any kind of Chase products. So as you present your Chase credit card, the banker will then look up your profile based on your credit card information and then fill out the CSP application, if available, for you under your profile. If the banker says the CSP app is unavailable for you, it means you are not eligible to apply, maybe due to your old Sapphire card still being stuck on Chase system. At this point, you may ask the banker trying to apply without your profile. This works the same as you applying online without logging in your Chase account. The reason why doing this in branch is 1.) because once approved the $95 annual fee will be waived. You can't get it waived when doing it yourself online. 2.) You hope this step can bypass your ineligibility status due to the old Sapphire account being stuck on Chase system. If you banker refuses to sign up for you as guest, then you will have to wait a bit longer until the old Sapphire account cleared off.

Quote from atwnsw :
Today, I went to the branch and gave them my chase cc and credit card. They looked up my account to see if I was Pre-Approved for CSP. I was not. He was new to the branch. Is this what the bank is supposed to look for in my profile? or Did he look up the wrong thing?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Tazmania99. I applied a CSP back in June 2017 and received bonus in August 2017. I converted the CSP into Chase Freedom in 2018. I went to a Chase branch today and the banker pulled my account and told me CSP offer is not available in the droplist in her computer. She said the reason is that my previous CSP was converted to Chase Freedom which has not been closed and the system still treats the Chase Freedom as CSP. She said there is no way to apply for the CSP for me because of this reason. However, this is different from what was said here. Is there any way we can bypass this? Thanks a lot.

The criteria of getting 100K bonus points is 1.) not a current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, and 2.) have not received any Sapphire bonus within the last 48 months. Technically you are now eligible for a new sign-up bonus since your last bonus was awarded in August 2017.

Call 800-493-3319 to inquire about your CSP eligibility. This is the dedicated phone number for Sapphire cards. Reps are more knowledgeable in terms of eligibility. They can confirm whether what your banker said is true and rectify the issue. If it is not the real reason blocking you from applying, they will advise you what the true reason is.

Well not everyone is interested in flying or staying in hotels since that costs money. Many SDers just want cash. Are there any reputable online brokers people can recommend to get more than 1.25 or 1.5 cash?

So basically before going to branch, everyone should just call this number and check?

Again, waiting CSR to clear after 9/8 PC

Btw, my friend claims he sees 15k referral not 20k

Isnt it $1250?

You can redeem towards many categories at 1.25% with pay yourself back - though this might expire at the end of the month

I am trying to figure out what to ask for from my friend if I do referral with him , 20k points , ask for $125 or $100 for the 10k points. I will likely ask for $125 and tell him I am only getting $30 since fee aint waived, and if he redeems it smart its worth $125

So I am close to the 4k spending but I am realizing I do not have enough spending in the pay yourself categories. I do not travel so that does not work. I am wondering if I should go to my local grocery store and load up on giftcards and then use my points to pay myself back for the cards with the 25% discount. Is there any reason why this won't work or is not a good idea?

If you only had 1 chase credit card (chase freedom) for the last 5 years, how many cc can you apply at once?
