I called chase to get clarification. Hotels booked through ur portal does 5x points, except when the $50 annual hotel credit will be applied to it. For the transaction that the $50 annual hotel credit is applied towards, 2x points is rewarded
1. Signing up in branch will have $95 annual fee waived for the first year.
2. Referral with 20K points can only be done online. No referral in branch.

Btw, my friend claims he sees 15k referral not 20k
You can redeem towards many categories at 1.25% with pay yourself back - though this might expire at the end of the month
I am trying to figure out what to ask for from my friend if I do referral with him , 20k points , ask for $125 or $100 for the 10k points. I will likely ask for $125 and tell him I am only getting $30 since fee aint waived, and if he redeems it smart its worth $125
