I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

The lease for my car ends next year in July. Hoping this deal is still up so I can put 4k down using the credit card, essentially saving me 1k after redeeming the points.

Why would you lease a car? What a waste of money. The only leases that make sense are the ones where you can qualify for ev credit. Then the car is less than a hundred a month for three years. But you have to give it back or else it will cost you way more.

Leasing a car can be better than buying a car sometimes. Too much forecasting and interest equations for me to care but it's possible.

Not counting the $50 Grocery/Travel Credit:
In Branch would be a $800 bonus?
Online would be a $905 ($1,000 - $95AF) bonus?
Grocery Credit is done
$50 Hotel Credit if for everyone (existing gets it anniversary)
(please correct me if I am wrong)

I am pretty sure only difference between online and branch is the referral bonus vs the waived annual fee

Not sure where you get $800

DP:
PC CSR to FU Friday, Sept 3 over the phone
Friday, Sept 10 went into branch to sign up for CSP and they didn't show the offer yet so I was probably still in the system as having a Sapphire card

Will try again this Wednesday or Friday

Received this card just in time to upgrade my phone and watch this Friday which along with a couple other purchases should put me over 4k. Can't beat a nearly free upgrade!

Anyone know how long it normally takes for the referral 20000 points to post?

I signed up with my wife's referral at the end of August, and it shows her points pending for October 4th, which is the end of her next billing cycle. So, it looks like it took a little more than a billing cycle because I had signed up before her last billing cycle had ended. However, I didn't receive the card and activate it until after the cutoff date, which is probably why it got delayed by one cycle.

There are things that can make it more appealing like business writeoffs. But in the long run, leasing does not make sense financially. Maybe you are a realtor and you need a nice car for your image. But financially speaking, it almost never makes sense over owning.

Someime's residual values are inflated when you lease to the consumer's advantage and you can get good deals

Also , you usually can return the car before having to do brakes and other stuff which could be pricey , depending on the car

Which card can I downgrade my CSR to if I already have the freedom flex and unlimited?
You can make a product change to a Freedom Flex, Freedom Ultimate, or Slate.

(You are permitted to have multiple Freedom accounts. The most I've heard about here has been 5 accounts, but I believe the number is unlimited.)

It's unlikely that this deal will last 13 months (100K offer started in June).

While it may be more convenient for you to meet the spending requirement in one lump sum, what difference does it make whether you earn the 100K bonus now or then? Indeed, I'd value the 100K more today than a year from now.

Got my wife the card for a trip we took, I got the points next billing cycle right after she hit the $4K. I was pretty impressed.

Standard leases are three years. If you need a brake job within three years of brand new, you need to adjust your driving technique. Plus leases limit the amount of miles you can travel. Drive more than that, and for sure you'll pay way more than owning.

Again, there are factors like residual value that can make leasing more appealing. But you'll never come out ahead financially over the long haul.

I think his point is since he has a big spend requirement, he could apply for the card to use on that spend. Not everyone can spend 4k in three months with everyday spending. Although anyone who leases typically isn't a low spender.
