I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Something is suspicious here. Chase detected you'd had CSR on file and instantly denied you on your first attempt with no hard pull on 09/07. This is fine because it was programmed like that. But when you applied again on 09/14, your app was accepted, pending to review. Here is an inconsistency. If your 2nd app was denied due to the same reason, why the 2nd app was accepted and resulted in a hard pull when the first app was instantly denied without a hard pull. It doesn't make sense to me. I doubt the rep was actually looking into the first app when you called on 09/17. I suggest you contact Recon again and emphasize you are inquiring the application on 09/14.
In case the second denial is really due to the same reason (which sounds stupid), i.e., the old CSR is not yet cleared off, you still have 30 days from 09/14 to appeal the decision. By that time the CSR should have been cleared.
So I called today and the application from the 14th is still denied cause my CSR is still showing up in my account. Maybe I'll call a branch next week and see if it still shows in their end.
I also wonder if it's still showing in the system cause technically this month is the "anniversary" since I got the card back in 2016. I'm getting tons of mail regarding my CSR
Thank you for the update. Did you ask if they really had a hard pull on you for the second app due to the old Sapphire account being stuck on their system. I hate Chase being inconsistent to applicants while some got a hit of hard pull and some are not.

Is there a way to get the 20k referral bonus by referring my wife who will then get the 100k?
That's exactly what I did, I sent a referral via the Chase app to my wife. FYI I already got my 20k referral bonus on my latest statement, and we haven't completed the $4k spend requirement on my wife's card. I had read a few times on here that that may be a prerequisite to earn the referral bonus, but it wasn't the case for me.
In person, show them a hard copy printout of the page.
However, such measures should be completely unnecessary. Your original call was probably either answered by a new employee or your inquiry was misunderstood.

You may need to wait up to 30 days after you cancel your CSR

This is the best way to do it, and beats even getting the AF waived as some have done in-person with a banker.
Not aware that referral bonus is linked to referred person meeting the $4k spend requirement... which they should do anyways since then there is no signup bonus...
I have chase freedom unlimited. I do not yet travel a whole bunch. Is this card worth it for me?
150% since the sign-up bonus is so great.
Even if you don't use the card for travel at all next year, the sign-up bonus and the 3x dining earn rate are fantastic. The other various benefits / credits (e.g. Peloton, doordash, lyft) are cherry on top in case you happen to use them.
I went to the nearby branch. After getting my driver license and chase debit card, the bank employee said the credit card application wasn't working from her desktop and she tried on another desktop and said the application wasn't working from it either. I called her several hours later and said she still was having the same issue. Did anyone else have this issue today or before?

Hey Tazmania99, Hijacking this to see if I will be able to get this when I have Chase FF got it within last 12 months and Credit Age is slightly above 2years. I think Credit score and income should not be an issue.

I didn't ask about the hard pull.
I'd suggest calling them again and speaking to a different banker. If they insist on feigning ignorance about the 100K offer...
- On the phone, apprise them of Chase's promo page: https://creditcards.cha
se.com/rew.../preferred
- In person, show them a hard copy printout of the page.

If I signed up again, would I still qualify for the bonus? I had these cards around 5-6 years ago before I canceled them.
Thanks!
