I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

821 credit score, little debt and six figure income and they need to review my application? Wtf....I was hoping to book a big vacation today and knock that $4,000 out in one purchase.
They are re-calculating the credit lines limits. If you have other Chase cards, they are going to decrease all your credit lines accordingly, in order to open the new one. It takes 2-3 days, check your online portal to see when a new account appears. Check in "new messages" as well for a notification. Nobody will send email or paper letter Smilie

Just called Chase and they said that if I product change from Sapphire preferred to Freedom Flex there is going to be a hard pull on my credit. Is that the same experience with anyone here?
Had the CSP card for almost 4 years. Trying to product change to take up on this offer.
Thanks
There must have been a miscommunication somewhere. Ordinarily, there is no credit pull for downgrading your Chase credit card. (The only exception that I can think of would be if you were to simultaneously request a credit limit increase.)

Yes, they do.

They immediately approved my wife's online application yesterday. Peace

However, you're correct that Chase seems to be taking the time to review applications more and more. Ten years ago, every one of my personal applications would have been immediately approved. Now, 3 out of 4 get reviewed.

There is no credit pull for a product change at Chase. I just did this for my brothers CSP so he could get this 100k offer. Try calling in again, not all customer service reps are equal Smilie
Thanks! Will call again.
Had the CSP card for 4 years, can I take up on this offer or no since I already had the card?

If I were you, I'd call them. Reconsideration line: (888) 270-2127. Often, they just need a simple question answered or detail cleared up.

While you're at it, request them to expedite delivery. Otherwise, it may take 10 business days (2 weeks!) for them to deliver your new card.

Good luck!

Assuming that you meet Chase Bank's other criteria (5/24 rule, credit score, income, age, legal address, etc.), you qualify for the new Chase Sapphire Preferred card bonus if:

1. More than 48 months have elapsed since your last Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve bonus was awarded.

2. You currently have no other Sapphire accounts (either Preferred, Reserve, or plain). Being an Authorized User on someone else's account does not count as having a Sapphire account. However, being an Authorized User does count toward the "5", under the 5/24 rule.

3. For further details on Chase's 5/24 rule and other qualification issues:

Note: If you currently have a Sapphire account; you can request a product change (downgrade) to a free account such as a Chase Freedom or Chase Slate card. No one knows exactly how long it takes for a product change to register in Chase's system, but it seems like 4 days one to two weeks seems to be the current norm for in-branch applications. Online applications seem to be clearing about twice as fast as in-branch applications.

DO NOT CANCEL your existing Sapphire card in order to apply for this deal. Your canceled card will take 30 days to clear Chase's system. Instead, do a product change (downgrade). Product change is much faster and preserves your credit history.

Note2: Options for signing up:

1. Sign up in-branch. $95 annual fee is waived when applying in-branch.
2. Sign up online. $95 annual fee is not waived.
3. Sign up via referral. [chase.com] This is an online option only (referral cannot be made in-branch). Person making the referral earns 20K points worth $200+. Person making the referral must be a CSP card holder. $95 annual fee is not waived.

So do they have to do something special to get the extra 20K points or is it automatic? I am trying to ascertain if I need them to look for and find the darn memo before they apply at the branch for me.
He did not have to do anything special. Have them call "support." Unfortunately, i do not know the number or what support means but he was able to figure it out once i left him that VM.

This morning, I called Chase first and had a phone rep tell me all branches should be offering the 100K bonus + first year waived + $50 grocery credit. 30 minutes later, I walked into my local branch and they confirmed all of this. Sign up was quick and painless. He said it was 80K + 20K bonus usually within 1 week of each other. Also clarified that if you sign up in person, you cannot apply a referral promo. And I clarified that if you use a referral link from someone, it will offer 80K for now and if you use that link, you'll only get the 80K. Bank worker said its unlikely that a referral offer with 100K bonus will be offered.
Hope that helps everyone

Just scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. You would have to call the bank and set up an appointment.

Thank you.

Here is how mine went down. I think I still screwed up.

I walk in and as expected, the rep had no idea. She pulls up my account and only sees 80K. She says she will verify and then only apply. BUT. She did not do anything. She made me sign the application and I under-reported my income to keep my credit limit low. I only reported $90K gross. I was instantly approved for a $17K credit line and then she called the support "back office". They confirmed that the 20K extra points should be automatic. She also had them expedite my card (leaving on Wednesday for a trip) and said I should be getting my card in 1 to 2 business days. SO. Hopefully, Tuesday.

Here is why I say I screwed up. I have no idea if they waived the $95 or if I will get the $50 grocery credit.

What do I have to do to verify the $95 is waived and I will get the $50 and how do I get the $50? Is it automatic once I charge $50 or more at the grocery store?
