I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

About 10 days ago I paid a Medical bill for $600, then the next day my insurance paid the $600. So I called and had my payment reversed (Credit back to my Sapphire Card). Which they did the next day.
I'm now at $3500 spent (Not $4100) but it still says I'm getting my 100,000 points on 10/2.
Can I trust that this is true, or will they pull it back?
Whether or not Chase, according to their T&C's, should not count refunded purchases towards the MSR, the reality is that they always have counted those charges toward the bonus threshold.
Several people have screwed themselves out of the Southwest Companion Pass, for instance, b/c they assumed that refunds wouldn't count toward meeting the bonus, leading them to hit the bonus too early for the 23-month strategy to work.
Charities show extended through 12/31. Grocery/home improvement DO NOT. Now they might. But its in 6 days. I'm just saying I'd wait the 6 days to see what they do before figuring out where to meet the spend.
I mentioned this days ago but no one responded. Now everyone is commenting and panicking with their panties in a bunch.
My educated guess is they will extend everything that is valid at the moment. They aren't going to re-code everything and remove specific categories. That's so much work for what purpose? If they don't want to pay out pyb anymore, just suspend everything at the end of this month like originally planned. Could definitely be wrong but that's my guess.
For those of you doing Pay Yourself Back for home improvement and grocery categories - it is supposed to be 25% reduction using your points. Just noticed today that they are only doing 20%. You need to call support and complain.

You are looking at the math wrong. 25% more value for your points is like 20% off.
For example you pay $100 but only need 8000 pts. You get 10000 pts of value back that is 25% extra. But you spent $80 worth of points so like 20% off your purchase.
It doesn't take long for Recon to make a decision, but it does take time for Fraud department to go over the review process. What was the issue when you called Chase on Tuesday?

I was declined due to them having giving me enough credit vs my income and I didn't answer any questions when they cold called me on Monday. So when I called recon i asked if they could reallocate some of my existing credit. They asked me about my mortgage payment and if I wanted to declare any other income sources,
You should call Recon again to follow up. This kinda issue should not take long for Recon to move forward, especially when you are not asking Chase to extend more credit to you but just credit reallocation from another account.

I am authorized user on wife's card. Anyone know if I can open new and still be eligible?
ETA: I removed myself as AU and after about 10 days went to branch to open new account. at this time it showed up as pre approved for me in credit card section.
Yes, you don't have to remove yourself from your wife's card to be eligible. I did it and got the bonus.
I had the card a couple years ago and closed it after one year. The offer now sits inside my account saying that I was already approved. Does it mean I can apply for it and get the reward for sure?

Fine. But next to my PYB redemption it says "You saved 25%".
Very misleading verbiage. As a consumer my point of view is in terms of saving money, not points.
i downgraded my CSR on thursday night and today i noticed that both sapphire cards appear under the "Open an account" dropdown of the webpage. is this a guaranteed indication that i am now eligible and won't have problems applying for the card? or should i wait a couple of more days to be safe? i don't want to mess this up, but at the same time i feel like the promotion will end any day now!
thanks
