Just got around to trying out a pair of these today that I got from a previous. The temperature and humidity are showing over 5 degrees in temp and 5% difference in humidity while sitting right next to each other. Don't give me much confidence in their accuracy.

Similar Xiaomi ones can be had for ~$16 for 4 pack. When staff post these 'deals' they magically get a bunch of TUs and ends up on FP in no time.

The problem with wifi devices is that wifi consumes orders of magnitude more power than BLE or other low power protocols like Zigbee. A battery device on wifi will need to be changed very frequently.

I was hoping for devices that's connected to wifi, and you can get the temperature only when you ping it at that instant. I'm not looking for something that logs continuously, but just want something for convenience to see it quickly on my phone.

I got this a week ago for my humidor and will return for this reason. It does not sync automatically, and the fact that I have to go into the app, press sync and wait 30 seconds for each one ruins it.

There is a widget on Android but the refresh button does nothing so again, you have to go into the app.

Also, the range is poor. With a wooden box around it and nothing else range is 20 feet. I have another cheap Bluetooth hygrometer and it syncs much further (and automatically).

On the plus it seems accurate.
