It does indeed have wired backhaul. The extenders are the ones that do not, but if you want additional wired nodes, just add additional routers. I currently have three of these, all on wired backhaul.

I have three of these and, overall, they work great. My main complaint is the subscription service, "Eero Secure." At first I thought it was just for additional security features that I would never use, but once my free trial expired, I learned that it also won't let you view your device bandwidth usage without it, which is really shitty of them. They have a Day, Week, and Month tab of the Activity screen, and you can only access the Week tab without a subscription.

I'm the same way. I have an old Nighthawk R7000 that I'm going to replace soon, likely with Eero. I moved into a bigger house and now priority is larger coverage and consistency, which Eero seems to meet those needs. I am very sure I don't fully utilize the security features/options on my nighthawk now, so I thought the subscription features you pay for on Eero wouldn't be missed. but THIS sounds like a feature I'd want. Wonder what else I'd be missing out on, cause there's no way in hell i'm paying monthly for anything. (if I wanted to pay monthly, i'd just rent equipment from my provider, which also ain't happening)

Bonded MOCA is the way to mesh. Period.
It's is, but is it even considered mesh really? It's as fast as Ethernet just has shared bandwidth

"couldn't use my phone if it was on Wi-Fi calling mode" .... Is this still true? With this or the TP-Link product? That's not good (for me)....
I haven't had any issues with Wi-Fi Calling with the Eero Pro 6. The Deco M9 became unusable once we discovered that it blocked Wi-Fi Calling on our cells.

Currently, we are using T Mobile (Asus) router with Google fiber (500 Mpbs). It works fine, but the range is the issue as my WFH setup is at the far end from where the router is. Occasionally, I see network cuts off , especially with workplace VPN, and with kids using the internet for at home schooling due to Covid.

Will this router alone (with no extenders) do any better? If not, I will have to buy extenders, and that's an added cost... Hence my question....
Our house is not hardwired for Ethernet...

Any thoughts? TIA!

At that rate, why even bother using wired?
Consistency. For me a reliable wired connection at 60 Mbps is far better than a wireless connection at 500 Mbps (or close to it as I have fiber ISP

My main rig is still hardwired to the R7800 router. It's all the various laptops and portable devices and security cameras (Arlo) that I want to have a reliable wireless connection for.

I ended up going with the TP-Link Deco M9 Costco Deal for $169 on 3 devices. Yes, older tech, not WiFi 6, but speeds seem to be better, setup seems to be easy, coverage seems to be greater. Tri-band backhaul was also a big selling point at this price range. I still have concerns about reliability and consistency, which I hear Eero is good at (even though speeds suck). I'll be getting my Deco this week, trying it out. If it works, great. If not or not as good as I hoped, then Eero will be ordered and tried as well. I have been tempted by other, more expensive options like Orbi and such, but we'll see how this works first. While a higher end Eero Pro or Asus would be great, i've been living reasonably fine with a single 8+ year old Nighthawk other than range. My internet speed is only 100Mbs for now, with potential upgrade to 200 or 500 in a few years. So, no need for a speed demon. Just consistency, range, and reasonably minimal speed dropoff.
I have them for a while now. I don't know what people expect for "reliability" but I've had to restart once in months. Speeds have been pretty good overall and none of my nodes aren't even wired. Now my speeds have halved once I changed the PPPoE setting but still get 300-400s over air. I have 1gb fiber.

I've been looking at Eero pros mostly because HomeKit so people saying invasion is bad with them confuses me. I don't trust nobody but Apple's security among these companies. I also don't want to pay for profiles and monitoring etc. That's ridiculous to me.

Anyway so I'm keeping my M9+ for now until I find a better setup. If it wasn't for HomeKit I wouldn't even bother looking TBH.

If u can afford, get the unifi dream machine
I have the UDM and as much as I want to love it, I am going to give this a shot and sell the UDM on Ebay.

Unifi makes great devices but this one seems to have missed the mark - its loud and hot, frequently freezes up the UI/remote controls to the point that you must restart it to log into it and then occasionally drops a chunk of my devices. I must restart the UDM a few times a week to keep up and it's frustrating.
