I'm surprised at all the positive reviews. Seriously surprised.
The camera sucks.
The dynamic range is atrocious. You put the ring light on and everything is blown out – so you lower it to minimal brightness and it adjusts exposure... to still be blown out, now with more artifacts!
I use it as my 3D printer timelapse and it sucks for even that.
Bought it for a client. Found the ring light did not do much to help light the users face in a well lit room where the window is behind the user. Maybe in a darkish room it is better?
You're not going to find a camera that works with a lit window behind the user.... even the human eye will see a silhouette in those situations.
you gave nothing.
seriously, your example helps nobody.
It shows I'm not lying about it acting as a shitty cam for printing time lapses. Hell you want me to compare it to? Fine the camera on my Macbook Pro is better in image quality in every metric. All I can do is tell people it sucks. If you/they want to waste their cash - be my guest. I don't owe you anything.

P.S. You done upvoting yourself?
So you've done the same time lapse with your MacBook pro camera?
My dslr take awesome time lapses, but it's sucks as a webcam.
What upvoting? I'm not op.

Did you quantify and qualify anyone else's reply in this listing? Surely positive reviews still merit the dingleberry examination you are attempting on me.
EDIT: your argument is dumb as well. Of course the operation of a webcam would need purpose built software/firmware and regular, real cameras can easily not have any focus on that function. Like Nikon and their 720P output.
Thats not what I stated by the way. I said it sucks for its intended purpose because image quality (dynamic range and exposure leading to artifacts) sucks. Therefore I use it for timelapses because I don't care at the moment the image quality sucks. For 480p timelapses that only I care about, it is fine... certainly not worth 80 bucks, but its long passed the return window.
Where In my review did I say it was a timelapse camera review? I merely said, again, thats the use I ended up utilizing it for since I can't return it.
Ring light is mediocre, but otherwise I've been using this camera for the last 18 months. Use everyday on zoom meetings and to record lectures for my college students. Hosted the zoom parties for a professional soccer team during covid and looked decent on TV when they'd show us. For the price, it's pretty great quality.
Buying a ring light at Ross for $10 would be better than this. Razer is a disappointment. they spend all their money on advertising and not their products.
The Jelly Comb W15 is $50 and has a ring light and 1080p60.

Reading comprehension. Try it sometime.
I also bought a Lenovo webcam from a SD last year. Was disappointed with that too, but it's serviceable.
