the HSN page says "1500 minutes, 1500 texts and 1500MB data + 365 days of service"
is the 1,500MB of data monthly? Or is it 1,500MB for the whole year?
No, those numbers are annual. This is a great deal for an emergency phone, and those who use wifi.

For a similar price, the deal on the Moto E seemed like a better phone.
What happens with MMS after your data is finished or if you have data turned off? Can you receive them via Wifi?

MMS goes against your messaging quota when data is used up and using WIFI.

We use Tracfone as our main service. I barely talk to anyone on the phone. 1500 is a lot of texts, but if I ever go over I can easily get 1,000 texts for $5[walmart.com] to add-on. You can always add more data or minutes if needed too.
I think it's better than paying $50+ per month for the unlimited talk/text plans from the big guys.

I have voice minutes and SMS left on my plan, but no data, and any text messages that are not simple emojis or character-based will not come through, even on WiFi. I can see I got something, but I am not able to download them.

Bummer. I'm looking for something for an elder who needs a new phone. Her main request was something capable of MMS.

How much will it cost to add more data to this?
You can buy add-on Data for any Tracfone, $10 for 1GB. Each MMS uses 1 text unit plus the data amount of the MMS attachment(s). The Data balance keeps rolling over as long as the phone still has service days. Same with the talk minutes and text balance.
I just activated my 16GB deal, back in 2/8, for the same price, I noticed the following:
- it is 1.46GB, not 1.5GB
- no wifi-calling option (no luck for bad signal area)
- text 'DATA' to '611611' to get allowance (this might be free)

It's a bit of fudging or decimal vs "hexadecimal/computer" math. The amount that comes with the phone is 1500MB. In computer math, a GB is 1024MB (instead of 1000MB), so 1500MB = 1.46GB.

Edit: Tried it again and now the S&H is no longer there now.
Ordered it. Thanks and repped!
