Double Cash cards can not yet be product changed to Custom Cash, though you can change it over to a Rewards+ and from there to change it to a Custom Cash.

People are now successfully product changing their Citi cards to become the new Custom Cash card. Readers in the comments report being able to product change their Expedia, Rewards+, Drivers Edge Charter, Diamond Preferred, Premier, Prestige, Preferred, AT&T, Dividend, and American Airlines AAdvantage cards to become a Custom Cash card.

Perfect timing on the $200 bonus after spending $750. My State Farm agent just sent me the renewal paperwork…and it's $800 for both my cars for the next six months. About to be $600 after this thogh =D

Thanks. Do you remember what state the letter came from?
I know it's a different credit card, but I just got my Citi Premier card, and it came from Missouri. And yeah, it took about 10 days to arrive.

What are the 2% no-fee card options?

Quote from ThatAdamGuy :
When signup bonuses are taken into account, this is overall likely a lousy choice for most people, except maybe for people who want just one or two credit cards and never plan to get any more.

Its $200 signup bonus is woefully dwarfed by the many cards offering $500, $1000, even more in signup value. And its 5% on one category -- max $25/month -- is not all that exciting when you take into account the 2% no-fee cards available.

So imagine a spend of $500 a month on the 5% category, and $1000/month on other stuff.

With this card, that's ($500 x 5%) + ($1000 x 1%), or $35/month
With a 2% card, you'd earn $30/month.

$5/month isn't worth giving up a huge signup bonus for.

Thats a fair take, but a lot of us want pure cash/1:1 easily and that 1.7 cent number is travel and jumping through hoops. Also yes the SUB is dramatically lower, but a lot of us arent churning or want to have daily driver cards, plus just because we get this card doesnt mean we cant later do amex and other cards for SUB churn.

For me I like the card because its 5% on grocery with no AF. That's really good. I current have BCP, which ill PC to a BCE, and BofA Platinum honors. Switching to this saves me $35 a year minimum compared to my BCP, plus the extra $200 SUB, not a big amount, but it completely replaces what I was using my BCP for.

Agreed. I am in a similar situation and just downgraded the BCP to BCE with no annual fee and am saving $95 by using the Citi Custom for grocery. If I go over, $500 per month for grocery (usually less), I will use the BCE for 3% back on grocery. I also have various cards for different categories of spend. I use my BofA cash rewards card for more than 3% back on different categories. For all purchases that do not qualify for more than 2% back, I use my double cash. Thus, I get 2% to 5% back on credit card purchases.

The post comparing AMEX Gold with $250 annual fee with Citi Custom with no annual fee is not a fair comparison. The AMEX Gold card with MR points is focused on travel. My travel card is the Chase Sapphire with 100,000 point (normally 80,000) and the points for travel via Chase Ultimate portal is worth 1.25 points. Annual fee is $95 not $250 and first year is waived by applying thru the Chase branch.

For someone who does want too many cards or do not churn card for the sign-up bonuses, get the Citi Custom for grocery or another category in addition to a 4 or 5% restaurant card, a Chase Flex card, and a 2% card for the rest to maximize your cash back. For travel, get a travel card with the benefits you want with the lowest annual fee.

By the way, very few card offer 5% back on grocery even with annual fee. The BCP with $95 annual fee offers 6% back. For the 1% extra back, you will need to spend a lot to offset the $95 annual fee.
