Feathers? Can you even buy feather pillows anymore?
Yeah i remember the best pillow i ever had when i was a kid was filled with feathers. Firm and cool. Great pillow. Outside was a harder material than they put now too.
Damn those are expensive. They use to be the standard before.
Yeah, I might actually bite the bullet and try one. I know it's pricey for a pillow but considering that you spend like a quarter of your life on a pillow, it's probably a worthwhile investment if it's significantly better.
My big pillow issue has always been it staying cold. I've tried like a dozen pillows advertised as "cold" over the years and the cooling never lasts very long. Maybe my expectations are unreasonable for what a pillow can do. I probably need to end up getting a water-cooling one connected to a water supply, lol.
Believe it. I've been buying these pillows from Walmart in-store & online for about 5 years now. I usually get the firm ones and this is just the normal everyday price at 8 bucks for one or 16 for two. They're okay pillows, but expect to buy a new one every 6 months or so because they do start going flat after a few months. Personally, I don't put pillows in the washing machine, so I figure 16 bucks a year to have 2 new clean, fresh, decent pillows isn't such bad deal. (I change them out @ 6 mos.) I just bought 2 today before I even saw this post.
In my opinion, this is a bad deal if you pay $16 for two pillows every year. Kohl's has The Big One pillows for around $3. Two of them would cost around $6 which is $10 cheaper per a year. That's if you really care about getting a good deal.

I have a Ralph Lauren down/feather pillow that's like 20 years old because I'm a disgusting human being but it's sooo icy. I've been slowly replacing my other pillows with down but they're like minimum $50 a pop.
I grew up with down (and a few feathers) pillows, I can not sleep on man-made pillows!
Please stop buying these polyester fill pillows and filling up the landfills; you can invest in a decent pillow that with care will last you over 10 years!
Also, you can re-fluff your polyester and shreded foam pillows with washing them in a non-agitator (like a front-load) washing machine. On a warm, breezy day wash two pillows (to balance the load) with a minimal amount of detergent (like half the smallest load measure). Add white vingegar to the rinse water and use a 2nd rinse option and extended rinse if you have them.
Put an old tennis ball in a clean sock (or use dryer balls) in the dryer with the pillows and put them on air-only, or the extreme-low heat setting for 30-60 minutes - then hang them outside for a day to dry. (Polyester pillows you can do up to medium heat for 1 hour).
Wash down/feather pillows once a year and you should get many years out of it.
Good places to get down/feather pillows: Costco[costco.com] has 2-pack for $30 and more choices. Target[target.com] has over 80 choices from $16 and up WalMart[walmart.com]even has them from $14 Sam's Club[samsclub.com]cheapest option is a Eddie Bauer down/feather for $40
My favorite is Pacific Coast[pacificcoast.com] (Costco used to sell these, watch for their sales and the prices will get better. I like extra-firm down-only so I end up paying around $80-100/pillow).
Another note, when my down pillows reach a certain age and are too "flat", I save them and will combine other old down pillows to fill it up fuller. So, keep in mind that $100 for a pillow sounds like a lot, but when I'm getting over ten years from one, that's $10/year from a cheap, hot, flat, wasteful polyester one.

To anyone interested, another great way to find a good pillow deal if you're not sure what you're looking for is the Amazon URL "trick". I've gotten a few very good shredded memory foam and down pillows this way.
For anyone not familiar with it, the trick is simply adding "&pct-off=70-99" to the end of the URL in whatever category you are searching...(copy without the quotation marks, of course). And yes, you can change the percentages to your liking.

You sure can. 100% goose down ones too. Just nowhere near this price.
I'm actually curious to try, lol
