I take exception to the world exceptional. Not all their stuff is exceptional. It is merely an empty marketing buzzword.
Probably because a lot of people have Amazon vs Newegg accounts. Also, Newegg's fulfillment and customer service sucks even when it's a hardware purchase. Some people might even have Amazon alerts.
I'm not sure why I got an alert on this one. I have PSN, Xbox, and Apple GC alerts. Must have triggered one.
EDIT: ah yes, the extraneous instructions to add to wallet apps.

Same here, this is a mess :/ I was actually in the store already checking out with items and got that error message on the cell phone, how convenient..
I got the same message earlier, but now it says, "CERTIFICATE ACTIVATING
Please try again in a few minutes." Hopefully, that is the case.
I received the following 3 confirmation emails from Newegg.
a) 4 minutes after the order. "We received your order" email
b) 6 minutes after the order. "Your gift card order is now ready" email. You click the link and then you can print your gift card or view it on the screen.
c) 6 hours after the order: "Here's your Newegg invoice" email.
Thanks for posting this deal!
Please try again in a few minutes." Hopefully, that is the case.

I contacted Newegg customer support regarding the certificates not activating, but they couldn't do much. They submitted a ticket to their technical team, though, so maybe something will come of that. I'll update if anything changes.
If anyone has better luck contacting the GC company, please comment. Not too confident that Newegg will help.
