I've been sweating my fridge conking out any time now. It's 16 years old and, while it had problems when first new, has been flawless for the past 13 years or so. Ice maker quit working and the repair was going to be over $600 and that was 10 years ago. I'll buy sacks of ice when needed, at that price, thank you very much. Ha!
With appliances scarce during the pandemic and circuit chips in short supply as well, I figured I better jump on this fridge while the getting is good. $1,000 off is a great price. I've been pricing new units of this caliber and they are a whole lot more than that! $2K for this huge one is the best bang for my buck on a home appliance in a long, long time.
Thanks for posting this out there. I'm sure that COSTCO will run out of these with a day or two.
Cheers!

NOthing... the wifi capability on the LG is useless. Just tells you the fridge is running and you can adjust fridge temp. It's a gimmick. Otherwise, the fridge is excellent.

Hey I went through the (first) compressor swap a couple weeks ago, there is a class action lawsuits against LG regarding their faulty compressors if you aren't aware. The lawsuit period is closed but LG is supposedly honoring extended claims and also money back for lost food, I assume you tried? I can link you the page if you need.
My friend is going through this right now can you please give me the link? I would appreciate it.

I wouldn't recommend either LG or Samsung fridges.
Compressors on LGs are notorious to breaking down.

Samsung are notorious for
(1) ice maker freezing up
(2) water drain hole freezing up (the fix is to install a $2 longer metal heating rod from the heating coil into the drain hole)
(3) the condenser coiling freezing up (including the thermostat) causing the fridge to not cool.

I owned a Samsung fridge, and it was just trouble after trouble.

End up getting a GE Profile on sale last Thanksgiving through Costco.

It seems some of these issues have been fixed on the newer models.

Wondering the same. In the market for a fridge.
Its a discontinued model hence the discount. It's not available for sell anywhere not even LG's website. By the way it comes to $1999.99 before taxes.

Well every brand has their own problems, you have to see how frequent is the problem and what problems you are okay with to work.

Don't buy Samsung appliances. From 2012-2014 bought Samsung fridge, oven, washer, and dryer. They all kept breaking down (luckily bought the extended warranties). Fridge was french door model, notoriously bad design and issues. CBC news had investigation on them. Mines had issues with the water dispenser and the freezer drawer freezing shut, ice melting, etc. The oven had broken knobs (light use), the push buttons on top stopped working. Washing machine flooded and wouldn't empty, dryer had the least issues but the buttons acted up. We have no kids, just me and spouse. I am very careful with my devices and always read the user manuals. I will never buy their stuff again. These were upper level models as well. The repairman said to stick to Whirlpool/Kenmore

I stumbled upon this appliance store blog a while back when I was looking to replace my Samsung:

They have a pretty good blog for most type of appliances.
