Apparently the latest model is Maker 3. Anyone know the differences and if it's worth it to wait?

I think the difference is worth it.

Yes they are, monthly. That's why the machines are being discounted now, no one wants them anymore

I thought they reversed that completely in March.

Maybe, my wife was charged in April and May. You don't need the subscription, but if you don't have one you can only have so many saved projects. Something like that, bunch of B.S. especially since they save to your hard drive and not their server. There are better cutting machine options. Cricuts are for the birds

Do you have one you can suggest? The monthly subscription keeps me from buying one.

I agree. Cricut moving to a subscription model is total garbage. I hope someone hacks these to run on an open source software. Heck, even their cricut design software is subpar to the free SVG editors out there.

Sorry, I do not, I've been researching for the wife, but haven't made any decisions yet.

That is not correct they didn't go through with the subscription requirement. You can do as many projects and uploads as you want for free.

Until a new breed of CEO takes over and it's voted in again. Yeah right… that's big business for ya. If they tried it once they'll try it again. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me.

Thats not the case anymore - the reversed course in April so there's no longer a limit.
