I'd like a bigger SSD but one assumes that isn't too hard to upgrade. 16gb ram by default is awesome.
edit - read the reviews. Lots of complaints about DOA and sound problems. Buy the extended warranty I guess. Hmmmm

I thought that brand died out like 15 years ago.
My very first "custom" computer was a Gateway. They used to be sort of like what Apple is today where they would have specialized stores with tech support bars etc. They were slightly over priced (far less so than Apple products) and they still ran on Windows, but they had slightly slicker looking machines than competitors, legendary customer support and an incredible trade in program where you could bring in your computer after a couple of years and get like 50% of your original purchase price towards a new computer.
They even had a trademark Holstein cow print that they used for their boxes and all marketing material.

Too bad I already have 10+ laptops at home.... I have no excuse to get another one.

The only concern is that this 14" is still rated at 4 lbs, somehow basically just as heavy as the 15.6" despite being smaller in every other way.
