I bought the same model 2-3 weeks ago and have to return it.
In specs it's a "good" computer, but Gateway/Acer does not support this model.
It's a veeery slow laptop, even after install all the windows updates
Note: no official drivers could be downloaded
I have a totally different experience, bought this when it first went on sale a few months back. It's not slow at all, screen's better than I expected. No issues so far.

Acer / Gateway is in Taiwan. Regardless of what the media wants you to believe, its very different than China.
They aren't made by Acer anymore. From Wikipedia:
"In September 2020, Acer granted Gateway branding and licensing rights to Bmorn Technology, a Shenzhen based technology company to manufacture and sell Gateway branded laptops and tablets via Walmart where these devices are not designed, produced, or manufactured by Acer. Instead it's rebadging their existing EVOO branded laptops.[14]"
I prefer the Dell 5406 from yesterday. It is $485 after you do the email signup for a 10% off coupon. $66 more for Dell quality (yes I said that) over Gateway, Touch screen and backlit keyboard, and 11th gen i5. Only 8GB ram though but that's enough for most people. Also the Dell is a VA panel instead of IPS.

Stonewashed jeans, Air Jordan's, bucket hats and Gateway computers.
What year is it!?!
Maybe the same year that a 1GHz processor was considered acceptable. It's like they took Chromebook processing specs, added some memory, and installed Windows instead. Hard pass.
Picked up the 14" version a couple of weeks ago and immediately returned it without even turning it on. Extremely cheap plastic build. Clicking on the touchpad causes the whole laptop to flex terribly. You can get a brand name laptop for the same price and upgradeable components, better support and build quality.

Are you on 21H1 and still have touch pad working?
Touchpad stopped working on both units after updated to Windows 21H1.
Please avoid these. Went through 2 of them and they both arrived with defects. One with a dead pixel in the screen and another with a messed up keyboard. Not worth the time/money to screw around with garbage.

Gateway was cheap crap before Chinese bought the name...
I recall in late 90s when you could order a customized laptop...had one was like $4500 at that time ran crap from pro/engineer, solid works to photoshop... yeah had those all in one home user but you actually had an option for a business somewhat portable machine ( as I recall the SOB was close to 10 lbs for 14 or 15 screen size)
