2TB of WD Blue 3D NAND is actually a good deal at $192 after coupon:
https://www.newegg.com/western-di...6820250093

SATA interface, but among the best SATA options one could get. Rarely see a reliable 2TB M.2 2280 SSD (and not QLC) at less than $100 per TB price recently, although there's more frequent 1TB deals.

Regarding that WD Black SN750 1TB for $135.. I think I saw Newegg showcasing an upcoming "SE" version of the same drive, but with PCIe 4.0 interface, and only $140.

That SN750 SE branding is a scam. They are just adding an updated Blue series level SSD to a Black series brand. The PCIe 4.0 spec is the only thing that can be considered an improvement. Everything else is by far worse than the original SN750.

At this 1TB SN750 Price, you should just consider the Sabrent Rocket Q4 - https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...d-review/2

Its currently $139.94 on Amazon (not on sale) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...9SPX&psc=1

If you have issues with the SSD being a QLC, the regular Sabrent Rocket TLC Gen 3 is also a good choice at $10 less than the Q4

Its better is basically every real world metric look at the transfer rate data on Tom's hardware on the linked review above

Sabrent Q series are QLC. Some people don't like that. I would not recommend because QLC are supposed to be much cheaper.
However a competitor would be SK Hynix Gold P31. Newer TLC, very good performance at super efficient SSD, and at very competitive price of $135 MSRP.

I'd take the Sabrent Rocket at $129 if TLC is a priority

Amazon has the 10% code for some accounts GETBACKTOBUS, so $147 - $14.70 if code works for you

Doesn't seem like good prices at all, let alone good deals.

i guess all are waiting on that. If you are buying a 500GB, it may reduce couple of bucks. If you are buying 1 or 2 TB then hold till prime day. Walmart, bestbuy, target all trying to push the sale this week till June 22nd

the SN850 is the equivalent PCIe 4.0 version and that's been out for a while now.

A terabyte for $60 and we still have people buying low end laptops with spinning drives.
