Thanks, OP! I just ordered one.

I picked one up a few weeks ago from Costco (it came with 250 nits screens and 12 GB memory), and while I love everything about the laptop, I wished for a brighter screen and more memory. Your post is an answer to my prayer. And getting a pen is an added bonus.

Their quality and the configuration allowed, has been improved a lot and with RTX Cards, full 2 pass support, B Frame etc., the end quality is almost similar to software encoding in CPU. Another option is the below one, but you can't upgrade the Ram.

Tough choice! I was debating between the HP Envy x360 vs this Lenovo 5i Pro, but since my wife absolutely loves having a touch screen, I had to go with the x360.

But what I love about the Lenovo is the screen: 16:10, 2560x1600, 100% SRGB gamut. Plus you get TB4, Windows 10 Pro, Windows Hello IR camera, MX450 for light gaming.

I would say go with the Lenovo 5i Pro UNLESS you need one or more of the following:

- Touchscreen
- Flipping the laptop to tablet mode
- Pen support
- Absolutely want to go team red (AMD)

I bought an x360 for the reasons many have mentioned here - folding, tablet mode, touch screen, etc. However after owning an HP Envy x360 (not this model though), I can tell you that there is a problem with the hinge breaking from opening/closing/folding into tablet mode. First, educate yourself - search "hp hinge repair" or any variation of that to see how common this problem is across models. If you are going to buy this x360 anyway, make sure you cover yourself for an ~$400 repair if this happens to your laptop. My laptop is out for repair right now.

At over 4 lbs this seems really heavy for a non-gaming laptop with a low wattage CPU.

When did you buy your x360? I've had 3 of these thus far and they have all been issue free.

We're both batting at 100% 3/3 issue free for you, and 1/1 broken hinge for me. Purchased Thanksgiving 2019 if it makes a difference.

Buyer Beware: I bought an HP Envy x360 with a Ryzen chip a generation ago. HP never released any driver updates and the video was really flakey. The chip was new so I knew I was running a risk but the fact that HP never released an update really left me with a hard-to-use computer. Something I might expect from a low-end intro model but that's not what an Envy x360 is supposed to be. YMMV.
