I think they mentioned they bought one from a previous deal.
I believe this is the first time (at least for a long time) this model from Total Wireless has been posted here on SD with this low of a price as brand new.

Yes you can after unlock with nyturbo or rsim. But note that it is a soft unlock. If somehow you have to do a factory reset, you will need to unlock it again.
Can u please send me additional info on nyturbo? Thanks.

Yep, this is a reconditioned one (came in white box)...battery is bad on those?
The phone claims 100% health on the battery...
I hope they don't use aftermarket parts..(screen/battery etc..) otherwise the phone will have no resale value and reliability will be poor.

This thing is SO old
It maybe a few years old but as someone switching from Android to Apple, this fits my need. My old phone died on me so I need a replacement now but wanted to hold out a few months until the 13 comes out. This will be a good rental that I can use and trade in and not lose much or any money at all.

Just as a DP, I've bought several of the iPhone SE 2020's from them that have been reconditioned, some even still had factory warranty others didn't. The apple trade-in program has accepted all of them so far for the quoted trade in. The SE is trading in at 200 right now, XR at 230.

I want to purchase a new phone . This is disappointing as it not advertised as reconditioned. There is too much risk here for me as it is not B&M returnable.

"Wow so some are getting new ones and others are getting reconditioned"

Is the SIM card included with the phone CDMA or GSM? Does it have an expiration date for activation?

Just the phone I'm looking for But their plans are really expensive. Right now I'm only paying $20 for mint mobile (10 gigabytes)
Mint is cheap if they actually have coverage in your area given that they run on the spotty T-Mobile network. Total wireles coverage runs on Verizon's network which is way better in all areas except perhaps the north east US. TW is also way faster if that is important to you…. If mint works for you and you really used 10gb then stick with them as that 10gb for $20 is a deal, but you initially have to pay for three months up front and have to renew by paying at least six months in advance to get that low price. TW starts at $25 for 1gb and you can add 5gb of data for $10 that rolls over to the next month until all used up…you can look at your actual usage and then judge for yourself if coverage, speed, and tethering is worth paying a little more for. Also, when you join TW you can join their free rewards program and enter the referral code of a friend (or get one found on Reddit) to get up to $80 (8,000 points) worth of service… which makes up most of the price difference in a year between the two companies.

And yet it is still an awesome phone with great battery life, large screen, and excellent camera. But I love people that need to have the latest and greatest and who happily overpay for things they don't really need… keeps the prices down on great tech for me!

I agree. These are definitely great phones. I purchased these for a few older family members and they love the screen size. Got these from the Costco promo with the big rebate trade in offer. Definitely miss those deals.

The batteries are still going strong around 93% despite getting them around release date in 2018.

The phone comes with a sim with the service plan purchased pre loaded on the sim. The phone is locked to totalwireless which runs on Verizon's network. CDMA is being phased out if still even active in your area… https://www.pcmag.com/news/cdma-v...difference these phone can be used on some of the other tracfone brands like straighttalk or tracfone.

For anyone switching to TotalWireless for the first time, remember to join their free rewards program and enter a referral code within 14 days of activation for points worth up to $80 of free service. If you don't have a code from a friend then visit Reddit and grab a code from people that post them there. Some referral codes earn less points than others so be sure to get one that will get you the max $80 amount.

Locked to Tracfone family of phones for 12 months, but not just TotalWireless as it also will work on: Simple Mobile (t-mo network), PagePlus, Net10, ST. This means one can take the sim that came with the phone and use it in any TF family phone or any unlocked phone.
