After reading the article about SmartSource stopping the printing of coupons, we'll need to band together more than ever to help each other find coupons and deals.

Found the following blinkies today:

Lactaid Milk 52 oz +, .75/1; x 8/29/21
Stonyfield Organic Yogurt & cereal topper $1.25/1; x 9/5/21
Vital Farms pasture-raised butter $1/1; x 9/27/21, limit two like in a transaction

Any one else have trouble getting on this SD's site little while ago?

I have been on and off all morning, but little while ago, when I went to open the tab up again, I got "This site cannot be reached".
I posted on their FB page and messaged them, but got robo message reply.

Glad they are back up, but that was frustrating!!

So, here's what happened. I heard on tv and radio last night that this company was doing an update and there was a "glitch" (happens, so they say) and many internet companies were affected.
Home Depot, Amazon, ATT, and I can't remember the many others.

My major win today - hubby got a prescription insurance wouldn't cover that was over $500. Pharmacy suggested I check Good RX and I paid $21 for that prescription!

Making it just a little sweeter, since it was a new prescription, I used the pharmacy's promo to get a $25 gift card. Wink

Thank you for sharing that!! Might come in real handy down the road. I checked a prescription I have and was a little more out of pocket than my copay I pay but not by very much.

It was interesting, too, because there were other places where the same prescription, even with GoodRx, was twice the price we were going to pay. It teaches me that in the future, if I am not certain my prescription is covered by insurance, I'm going to ask for a paper copy from the doctor, instead of having him call it in to our pharmacy.

Have you noticed the package changes on Cheerios. They're now called Cheeri Oats with an .80 coupon printed on the back for your next purchase.

Never heard of this, but I guess Cheerios were originally called Cheeri Oats.

Interesting article about store layout and shopping. As I read it, I could see this quite plainly in my local grocery store.

Yep every grocery store I know uses that.
I have been shopping the perimeter of the store for a few years now. (Eating healthier and unprocessed foods)
I shop the middle for rebate items and to see what is included in a mega sale if I find woohoo Wink

Ours is the same, but I also shop mostly the perimeter of the store. A few cans go in the pantry for emergencies, and rice because it's hubby's favorite, a pizza here and there, but it really does help our eating habits.

I went through a year-long store manager training program (Safeway) in the 90s, and it's amazing that the marketing really hasn't been changed or updated.
They also layout with the idea that customers bear right when they enter the store, and that if there are 2 doors, the busiest one with be on the right side so more impulse items will be there.
Vendors get end caps as a favor /promotional incentive. Not b/c items are on sale.
End caps are often where items go that won't fit in the back room. We'd get "firm orders" when buyers made a deal - bypassing the warehouse, the manufacturer would directly delivery a pallet of X to each store & we had to figure out what to do with it until it sold. There may/may not be a sale or the sale may not be for a month -sometimes I'd use firm order items as the base of a display and put that week's sale items on top.

Then there are the resets, which have the practical purpose of cutting in new items in a logical way. There's always clearance and new items, but if they shove the new item into the clearanced spot it may not really fit there. But they ALSO move things around so you can no longer make a beeline for the item you want, and have to look around. Which means you may buy something else. They know that the longer you are in the store, the more you spend. So they do whatever they can to slow you down.

My daughter is a srocker in a local to New England grocery chain in the dairy department. She is responsible for ordering all yogurt. Every week the warehouse send her stuff that she did not order and does not sell. She said its very annoying
